Boushh Budget Boushh {WIP}

Two of my items are done! Armor finished and tanks attached!

Here's how they turned out after I had to do some funky trimming, fibreglass work, bondo, and then the fun paint job. Audrey is tres excited :) I even added some padding to keep her comfy!

I love the sheen you get with your paint, the colors blend really well together, beautiful job! What kind of paints did you use for this?

Thanks Chris! Truthfully, it was just a mix of spray paints. Laying them down while the paint is still wet helps with the blending process.

spray paint? wow, great result. I think the "semiglossiness" really helps the armor feel somehow solid and substantial if that makes any sense. I have really been enjoying your posts, very inspirational!

So good! I can't wait to see the whole thing finished. I might be attempting a budget Boushh myself in time for halloween.

Hey everyone!

So, it's been a long time since I updated this, so I thought I would share.

My partner's Boushh is pretty much at the finish line. We had to a few alterations with some items to ensure that she was comfy. Considering Audrey is not much of a costumer, my primary goal throughout this process was to ensure that she enjoyed wearing the costume, and that she wasn't uncomfortable to the point of hating the experience and never wearing it again.

One of the biggest obstacles were the pants. We ended up grabbing a pair of pants from Value Village that were comfortable for her, and then draped a leather-like material overtop. The issue here was that the pants and the material were not the same colour so I spent quite a bit of time learning how to dye and colour the pants properly. The materials were also different in how they accepted dye and paint....it was a process :) I'm still not overly happy with the colour as I believe it to be more of a lighter tan than a rusted colour (even though some 12 inch figures look like they have more of a rust colour pant). Special thanks to Fangs for helping us out with the soft parts! No way could we have done it without you.

The tunic also seems to really change colour in the light. Some photos will have her with the correct colour...others will darken it quite a bit. *sigh.

We're holding off on the staff for now. I think she wants to see if she really needs it. But if she's anything like me, she'll probably want it eventually. I always find myself wondering what to do at events where blasters aren't allowed. My hands always feel so naked :) She has also said no to the voice changer which I'm surprised about. I think the amount of real estate in the helmet is a big concern for her and putting a mic setup in there will just be too much.

Anywho, here are her submission photos, plus a few from her first unofficial troops :) A few things that I still need to do are change her balaclava from black to brown, and add the clips to the spats.

Looking back on this project....yeah....even trying to do this costume on a budget, it was still close to $1000. Bounty Hunters aren't cheap :)

IF you are interested in this.....GUESS WHAT....I can EXPORT the presets that I made and EMAIL them to you! You just need the Voice Synth app to install them!

Let me know what you think!

Hey DeathProof do you think it would be possible to add that file as an attachment to this thread so others can pull it when needed? I know I'd love to have the preset as well. PM sent. :)
