What I did to get the correct shape and cut of leather, was to soak the leather in some water for a good 10-15 minutes, make sure its really wet. Then place the leather onto where you want it, and start working it in to the shape and form you want. Leave the leather on the helmet until it dries, takes around 2-3 days, But once it is dry the leather will remain in the shape of the snout, it shows all the edges and angles making it really easy to cut.

So, its been a while but I forgot to post the work I have been doing!

Since I couldnt identify some of the parts, I wound up just designing two pieces and had them 3D printed.

The first part was an odd L shaped bracket that appears underneath the cylinder like greeble in the ears. It is separate piece from the cylinder as one ear the cylinder and the bracket are together and in the other ear they are slightly apart.


Sorry for the crude highlight but here is the bracket I am talking about.


Here you can see that the bracket is slightly offset from the cylinder.

So with that, I crafted this


No idea what it was but I will take pictures of the finished product installed.

Thanks! I hope that I can help others build a more accurate Boushh. Maybe even help those wonderful artists who make such awesome buckets!

Speaking of which, I had ID'd the little metal stalk that goes on the Range finder and posted it on the RPF. However, I will post it here for you all.

I found it by mistake, lol. Turns out, that metal rod at the front of the Range Finder comes from C3PO, its part of the tip of a Chest Piston for C3PO.

Its been a while but here are some updated pics of my build.



Better picture of the top with some of the battle damage. Think I did alright with the damage.


I compared this to the originals and I think I did a fairly decent job with the ear greeblies
