Bo Katan yet another Bo Katan! This time it's an AUSSIE!

To attach my armour to my suit I'm using a combination of magnets and Velcro. I'll let you know how i go.

The reason I didn't go with press studs as it will eventually snag the fabric of the suit. I making the magnets removable also. I'll upload pics when I've finished frantically sewing

Your Jp should be completed by the end of this week/weekend and be ready to ship first thing next week.
Your progress looks great!

Best news all week! Thanks for the kid words. Hoping to troop in in by the end of April

Yours and a couple of others goods will be shipping the end of this week. :D

Awesome work!

I best get a move on with all my webbing. I've allowed a bit of room for your harness to go under my vest

My concern with using a piano hinge on this is the armour is abs plastic. Not solid resin or fiberglass like what most Fett gauntlets are. Also, Ash does have rather small forearms so a slide one would be better suited.

As far as padding goes, I had I similar problem padding the forearms on my tk with padding coming out but I fixed this by using thinner PVC pipe insulator cut lengthways wrapped around and using a platiprime glue which is designed specificly for rubber and foam.

If you want ABS hinges and a locking mechanism this is something I have been making for a while for other vacformed gauntlets. Basically its just like a regular hinge just thicker and will simply glue on with ABS cement, with the plus that they are adjustable.

Let me know if you want some ash I can just post them to you. Standard piano hinges are a pain in the backside.

one day I will stop asking all these questions.

the lights on the gauntlets. no matter how many times i watch her episodes i can't quite place which lights actually 'light up' whether they flash or stay lit etc. and which ones are just there as a pretty tile.

help anyone?

Interesting, I just thought they all stayed on the whole time, just under different lighting you would notice more. How are you doing this btw? have you got appropriate colour buttons? because trans clear, red and white lego 1x2 tile are just about the right size and easy to source, and will stick to your abs gaunts because lego is abs.

still working out the knife (so jealous yours will extend/retract) and those disc thingies on the other one. I got all the darts and stuff (came with the kit)

a glass or two of bubbly it shall be :) and I'll even share one with you. We met briefly at Armageddon 2012. Not sure if I can attend this year as I might be going to Sydney instead.
Are you coming to Dreamworld troop?

Not sure about dreamworld and if I go, I will probably bring my Legacy mando as my Bo will not be finished by then and Im a little over my Rav.

Your costume looks awesome btw, I really love your flightsuit colour. Cant wait to see it finished.

Anyway I realise the latch things may not make much sense in that picture so I took some more tonight, these are on my legacy gauntlets which are vacformed. I used to have velcro but it kept on coming off so I designed these:

open, pin out

Closed, pin pushed in:

You align different holes to adjust.

There is no need to have a hinge on the opposite side in ABS guants because you can just flex them open that little bit to push your hand through kinda like a bracelet. Hope that helps

Hey Ash, did you have any issues with shaping the gauntlet caps to fit on top of the gauntlets? I'm looking at mine and, as they are formed, it looks like I will have to grind down past the top of the gauntlet cap to get the sides low enough to match up to the top of the gauntlet. So, as you're looking at the curved area that you have to cut/sand out of the gauntlet cap to make the entire cap sit flush, all the way around, on the gauntlet, the top of that curve will bottom out past the side/vertical area and into the flat area where the lights/etc are.

How did you shape that area? Can you post up some pictures?

Kevin, any luck with the video? I'm still not able to load it using the link you posted above.

Thanks,
Daryl

The suit material I got from spandexworld.com and the material I'm using is called milliskin. I think the material is either called gunmetal or charcoal (can't remember)
