INTEREST THREAD: Death Watch Style Sintra Armor

I am currently tweaking the templates that I currently have to create a suit of The Clone Wars Death Watch style armor out of sintra.

The armor will include everything except for the helmet, gauntlets, back plate, and jetpack.

    The armor set will include:

    • Neck plate
    • Left chest plate with identification tabs cut out and backing plate
    • Right chest plate
    • Diamond with raised center rectangle
    • Abdominal plate
    • Cod piece with edges bent around in a 3D style
    • Left and right thigh plates with accurate holsters
    • Two knee plates
    • Two shin plates
    • Two sets of boot plates, including top and back
    • Two hand plates
    • Belt plates customized to your size (leather belt not provided)

    Two packages will be available.

    Package 1 ($75)
Flat cut-out plates which will require glueing and shaping of all pieces. Will include an instruction sheet.

    Package 2 ($100)
All pieces are put together and shaped according to Clone Wars graphics. This package will be slightly more expensive due to cost of glue and shipping (3D takes up a little more space than 2D)

    ----------

I plan on offering these in runs of 5. The price is still being worked out, so it may go down before the first set is offered. I am currently working on the prototype set, so pictures will be posted soon of both the flat and shaped/built versions.

If you would be interested in purchasing a set, please post here. These posts are strictly for interest and require you to buy nothing. The interest generated here, as well as at a couple of other forums, will be used to determine the feasibility of this project. If I can get at least 1 full run's worth of people, then the project will be a go.

Payments will be taken via paypal only, no checks or money orders. Runs will be first-paid/first-served with those interested set up for the next run.

Current sizing of the armor will be posted once the prototype is created. However, since I drafted these templates myself, they can and will be modified into at least a S/M and L/XL set (with the L/XL set as the prototype). Additional specializations will be considered (such as modification to the holster size), but may adjust the price. Details will be worked out via PM before order is placed.

Shipping will be via UPS and will be covered in the price of the armor. Shipping out of the United States will increase the price, though I do not know the exact amount at this time.

So, with the fine print all types up, anyone interested? Pictures to come!

Regular armor as in Boba/Jango style? No, not really.

Just an update, there was a little problem with the cod and shaping of the thigh plates. Everything has been worked out, though. I just need to finish the plates, reshape them, and put the thigh holsters on. Not to sound like a broken record, but it will definitely be open on Monday for orders.

Re: INTEREST THREAD: Death Watch Style Sintra Armor

Okay, here is a little update. Thanks to a rogue R2 unit, my original files for this armor were deleted from my hard drive. The only thing I am left with is actually the new pistol file. With that said, I am beginning a new build with this stuff, but on a separate level. Rather than trying to make this out of sintra and then hopefully bend it evenly, I am just going to sculpt this and make it out of fiberglass and/or resin. It will take a little more work, but the effort will be worth it. Why will it be worth it? Well, I have already begun making the Death Watch jetpack. That's right, when I sell the set, it will be the whole bantha, including the helmet! However, sometimes you just want the bantha's toe. For those of you in that position, I will be offering individual pieces.

So, let's see what I have on the hit list:
    • Neck plate
    • Left chest plate with identification tabs cut out and a separate backing plate for you to paint yourself.
    • Right chest plate
    • Diamond with raised center rectangle
    • Abdominal plate
    • Full cod piece with proper angles
    • Left and right thigh plates with accurate holsters
    • Two knee plates
    • Two shin plates
    • Two sets of boot plates, including top and back
    • Two hand plates
    • Belt plates customized to your size (leather belt not provided)
    • **Death Watch Helmet**
    • **Death Watch Pistols (discount for two)**
    • **Death Watch Carbine**
    • **Death Watch Sniper Rifle**
    • **Death Watch Gauntlets (two-piece clamshell)**
    • **Death Watch Backplate**
    • **Death Watch Jetpack with missile (harness not provided... yet.)**

Stay tuned for what is ready when. Though, I can pretty much guarantee that the pistols will be ready first.

See... this is my CAD overall for the build.

I don't mean to gravedig, but I'm assuming this project is scrapped?
