Death Watch Death Watch soft parts colors?

Arkady

Well-Known Hunter
Hey guys, I've gotten a few inquiries about Death Watch soft parts and between the pictures and the multiple CRLs I am kinda confused. In some pictures the suit looks bright blue, in some it looks almost like Jango blue. And in some it looks grey. I don't watch Clone Wars (OT girl here!) so are there different versions of this? And where are all these CRLs coming from? The 501st is the only one I can find and it doesn't have any info. Any help you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

KW put together some color references on the BHG side. I can tell you that most of the DW grunts from the early seasons have a bright blue suit, Seasons 4-5 are navy with the exception of the Maul grunts which are tan. Hope this helps!

Hey Carole,

mailed you you some info :)

IIRC it's only grunts who wear the blue flight suits in S4/5. I stand under correction, but Specialist troops like the flamethrower and airborne trooper as well as officers appear to have a variety of colour schemes ranging from light and dark grey to black (or perhaps it's charcoal). And that's just the flight suits :)

Ok, I get it, there are multiple color schemes. It seemed like the CRLs were requiring certain colors, but I didn't realize that there were different versions. Thanks guys :)

i had a hard time finding the right color also - because of the huge variety of colors on cloth ^^ and also because US and Europe use diffrent Color-palette Systems

For Pants and Jacket i used a Blue-Collar workers combination in RAL 5000 "Kornblau" (cornblue) it's a standard color for Working-clothes in germany and a bit lighter in blue then the UK or US Overalls i found out.
to get the Elbow tight i figured out using a tight Under-Armor-like shirt would work.... but of course the Colortone "Kornblau" is not avaible cause those shirts wont get tailored in germany - but the Color "Ryl" came very close maybe you can work with that Info.

Vest: Dark Marineblue Leather
Belt: My first Suit used some Faux-leather in a "cappucino"-light brown ( https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd....1.0-8/1617439_287453254746464_249857131_o.jpg ) But later i made a new one just out of natural Brown Leather.
even though the color variation i cant say exaclty which looks more "right" but i tend for the darker Leather.

Gloves: In the show it is shown that they have the same color like the rest of the Suit. But if you cant sew it yourself the chances are very low to find a right tone.
I used blue/grey Leathergloves from the fed.Army which was cheap and fitted in the color-palette.

For Season 4:
The Season 2 Grunt gets alot apperance in the background because the animators needed to fill the crowd. So they bleached and rugged the suit and put alot of dirt on it ^^
The other new Grunts of Deathwatch are either in Black-suits bleached out. Or in darkgrey suit with alot dirt XD

except the supercommando-Grunts. They are all Black and bleached. XD

Perhaps this has been done and I missed it, but has any intrepid TDH member attempted to assemble some CMYK or RGB color references into a single document? I realize color is rather subjective (calibrated monitor, human eye, etc.) but as a starting point such a document might be invaluable.
