My Lifesize Han Solo in Carbonite Project - 1st Attempt * Picture Intensive *

If you need some help moving it again, I'm right around the corner in Queen Creek, would be happy to help you move it over to my Star Wars room.

Seriously, that looks great. I might be able to talk my wife into this after I show her this thread.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!

... where are you planning on putting it?

I am turning one of our empty bedrooms into a small media room. The room is about 11 feet wide by 15 feet deep and will also house my Star Wars collectibles. It's where I hang out and play XBOX!

Today I painted the cabinet. I went with a Dark Smoke Gray Gloss. It gives just the right amount of seperation from the carbonite. I was going to go a little darker, but the next thing up was black, and I didn't want that. This was the darkest gray I could find.

Next I am going to start brushing details onto the panels.

I started painting the side panels. I used "Steel" and painted the inner panel trim and handles.

I then painted 3 of the sqaures, 1 white and 2 black. I also messed around with some silver and painted the grate on the rght side and a few of the buttons. This is going to take some time because it really has to be done with a brush.

I may throw some other colors in there, not sure at the moment.

Not much time to work on HIC today, gotta start my taxes! I managed to finish trimming the panels in Steel. Hopefully I can finish this in the next week or so! Sorry for the blurry, distorted, poorly lit picture; I was having lighting issues.

Holy Cows that is simply superb!!! Very nice work!!! Mind if I use some of your techniques to finish up my carbonite project thats been sitting in the shed for a couple of years?

All I have at the moment is the frame for the box completed. Not really worth showing. The life cast I did was destroyed hence why I put the project in storage.

I did a little work today on HIC and finished most of the inlay color (black, white, and silver). I also added some color highlights (red, yellow, and green) to the top of each panel. I figure this will give it a little something extra.

I still have to do the rest of the wiring for the LEDs. Almost there.....
