Lighting Idea for your HIC display!

Hello All,

I am in the process of building a HIC and was thinking about how I could make it appear to float against my wall. Well I did some research on lighting techniques and found a fairly inexpensive way to back-light it on my wall.

Check these out (I found them on Evil Bay!)

20M 15M 10M 5M LED RGB Color Change Strip Light Kit Flexible Dimmable Waterproof | eBay

I bought a set and these things are incredibly bright, remote controlled, and self adhering! They are RGB so you can change the color to suit your mood by remote!! I was so impressed with these, I figured I would share the find. I plan on simply sticking them to the outer corners on the back of my HIC, setting it on some clear acrylic blocks, and anchoring it to the wall to keep it from falling forward.

Good luck with your builds.

I tacked these lights onto the back of a headboard to see the affect and they were perfect. I'll try to attach the photo. You can control the brightness and they run extremely cool on 12v.

Here's the strip lit red with the lights on. The lights in this room aren't very bright but it shows the defusing of the LEDs.

When I get my HIC done I'll post some pics. I think I may use these light strips above my kitchen cabinets for fun.

Just finished installing the light kit on my Projo Screen. This was a scratch built screen. Total cost = $130. 100" screen size. I can't wait to get my HIC done and put these on the back.

After some more thought, I think a nice soft white glow (on a dark wall) would probably give you a nice illusion of it flowing.
