Building a Suit
TDH is primarily about two things: Researching the original costumes and props, and making your own replicas of them.
This section of the wiki is geared toward those of you looking to make your own suits.
[h= What am I Getting Myself Into? ]3[/h]
You should be aware that building a quality, screen accurate costume is a long and expensive process. There are
three factors in making a costume: Time, talent and money. You need to have 2 of those in abundance for it to work out.
Make sure to read "new to TDH? Read this about how much you will spend" before you get started! We don't want to scare you away, but you should know what you are getting yourself into.
[h= Getting Parts ]3[/h]
Many people come onto the board thinking that getting a Boba Fett costume is like going to Amazon.com: click a few links, buy some parts, have a suit.
It's not that easy though. At this point there are few licensed replicas available, and fan made replicas are usually done by individuals for their own use or as part of small group projects. The best way to get parts is to watch the forum for someone selling their old items or extras from their personal projects.
One question that comes up regularly is regarding the Master Replicas Boba Fett helmet. This is a GREAT piece and is an excellent value, if you can still fine one. Take a look at these threads on the forum regarding the MR Fett helmet:
Members often ask about the Master Replicas Boba Fett helmet. It is generally considered to be the most accurate helmet widely available to the public, as it was digitally scanned from an original helmet (but not the ESB hero, it was scanned from the pre production version 3).
It does have some issues though, particularly the "pinched" visor. The visor tapers significantly toward the bottom, which has huge impact on the look of the piece.
People have approached fixing this in many ways. Below is a list of some of the different member threads on the topic.

Over the years, TDH members have put together a huge collection of templates, stencils, paint lists and guides that will help you make the best possible Boba, Jango, Zam or other character.
Visit the [wiki="Templates"]templates[/wiki] section of the wiki for all your patterns and guides.
[h= Painting and Weathering ]3[/h]
Painting your parts takes a lot of patience, skill and research. The [wiki="painting_and_weathering"]painting and weathering[/wiki] section of the wiki should help point you in the right direction.
[h= General Propmaking ]3[/h]
We frequently get questions about how to make your own molds and product your own cast replicas. The [wiki="molding_and_casting"]molding and casting[/wiki] section of the wiki will get you started.
[h= TDH Forum Tutorials ]3[/h]
When you are just getting started, it can be hard to find the information you need. It's easy to find information about RotJ helmet painting, if you know that's what you need. But if you don't know the terms yet, it helps to have a bit of a guide.
The topics linked to on the [wiki="Tutorials"]tutorials[/wiki] page are some of the most popular "sticky" threads from TDH's forums.
