Thought you guys would get a kick out of it. I'll post images when done. I'm fairly sure the gist of it has been hammered out, just got to put it together now.

    Bam! She's a Bounty Hunter:

I have no idea how the top members of the 501st decide placement of characters within the bad guys side, but the character description at starwars.com specifically states she's a BH.

I've posted a WIP at the BHG. I also have a photobucket dedicated to the build. More to come later!

Looks like a good start. Was the diamond pattern hard to find or did you make each diamond?

Spoonflower has two designers of the diamond pattern, just slightly different from each other. I am using 4 way stretch material. If they had offered a 4 way stretch matte black pleather, I would have gone with that instead, but it isn't an offered material.

Hey silvermitt your WIP is looking great. About to start a bazine myself. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics soon. Any pieces of advice would be much appreciated. Also is there talk to get it being recognized on 501st or has anyone tried to submit for approval yet?

Well, as I understand it, whomever gets done first gets to write the CRL, if they want to do that is. I'm up to it, honestly. But I'm not as knowledgeable as others when it comes to the specific names of fabric, technique, and general sewing terms. I pretty much figured I wouldn't be the one after all since I had to move Bazine to the back burner to get my daughter's Princess Leia ceremonial gown done before her 10th birthday in mid-June. All I need to finish for Bazine is to sew up the main outer covering, and I'm done.

I haven't heard anything about approval since I don't know if anyone has actually tried it yet. I do know they were unsure of her status of bounty hunter or criminal scum. I gave what information I could glean to Robert at the BHG, and he feels the same about this character as I do (I think), but he wanted to talk with others high up in the SW food chain to determine her official status. I'd say the sooner someone pushes the CRL for her, the quicker they'll get her sanctioned as an official character.

Remember the hoo-bah over Kylo, and how it was uncertain just how big his role was in Episode 7? They really dug in hard to make that costume, and all they had to go on was, what.. 3 trailers? There are some changes done to the CRL and possibilities of a couple of other versions of Kylo in the works now too. They did an outstanding job on the CR's groundwork, btw, even with changes made due to the release of the dvd finally. In regards to Bazine, I think part of the reason nothing beens officially done to her is because she's in flux as to her role in the movie and what has been posted in print.

I admit I'd think it'd be a bit funny though, if she was never mentioned again after 7, and some of us hoping for character clarification get nothing more.

Well I'm just starting so you'll prolly still finish before me lol. I also haven't seen anyone else show serious effort in creating the costume other than you. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else picks up on it in the future. And as far as CRL I'm fine with not writing it I'd just like to get mine officially recognized hah. And hopefully she has an opportunity to expand her character in the future. Either way I'm excited to get started on the character.

The knife is the Fairbairn Sykes British commando blade, and the sheath came off of the British royal knife.

I did a search and found both of these from an online retailer. The Fairbairn was about $65, and the Britiash blade was $12. Both have a sheath that comes with them. At the time I ordered, I was unsure which I felt would do a better job. I'm glad I ordered both, because I think the Royal knife has a nicer looking sheath. Hope that helps!

How's it going with this build?? I'm seriously considering doing this one... I spoke to an embroiderer as the pattern looks like it's ALL embroidery! They said "heck no" so I may go back to the Spoonflower options... I can't sew (I know, I know) so I would need to commission it

Sadly, on hold for a bit. I am in the middle of moving the family out of the city before school starts for my kiddos. That said, I anticipate being able to set up my costume & sewing stuff in it's OWN room for a change. Basically, All I have to do is sew it up together and snap some pictures. I was shooting to be able to write the CRL for the Bounty Hunter's Guild before we got the green light to move, but mortgage closing and all happened rather quickly. So now, if I get mine done this fall after we get sorta settled in, I might see about working with Arty Anna to see if we could make the CRL together.

As for my build, I wanted to get a basic costume done first, and then use my own sewing machine to go back and put in the white embroidered pattern. My thinking was to give the Bazine character CRL a level one and two for screen accuracy. Heaven knows, not everyone is game for embroidery work, so the printed pattern should suffice for basic level. Sound fair?
