Tie Pilot Evolutions WIP

Jarvis

Active Hunter
I was at Toys R US and saw an evoalution pack with Pilots from Star Wars history , The one worn by Biggs caught my attention so I decided to build one for myself.
Starting with a Fiber backed resin Helmet and the cutting begins.

I'll have to by the figure or the book this week to find more details on the helmet but I think it will be fun.:)

I've always thought that would be cool to do! Can we see a pic of someone wearing it so we can see how it looks on a real person?

Just want to point this out:

"In Star Wars Empire: Darklighter, Biggs is shown wearing TIE pilot gear with a feature the editors point out is not canon: a clear face plate sealing the helmet in addition to the black face plate. Because the black face plate seals off the helmet, an additional clear face plate does not serve any logical purpose for the Empire's pilots.
This was added only so that the artist could identify the characters and allow them to express facial emotions. It is possible that the black face plate could flip up. However, this is unlikely due to the fact that flipping it up while in flight would prove fatal to the pilot."

Yeah, Flettch's quote is correct, it was just meant mainly to show which person was talking in the comic.

But either way, I realy like the look of it, I had been wondering if anyone had done it like that with a full scale prop.

Some one asked for a pic of a person wearing the helmet so I got a stand in to do the job .

I'm going to go with a thicker softer black foam and run through my parts box to see if I can come up with something interesting for the front and side rails .

Jarvis I hate to crash your thread, but I'm in need of contacting you! I've sent you PMs here and on the AOT forum, if you could drop by the AOT forum or even email me at spartan6117@yahoo.com that'd be great. But great progress here.

A little more work got done on the interior this week ,

I made a template for the jaw and cut it out of sintra then applied some heat to make the interior base, At the hardwhare store I found some small vents to add a little detail .
It all fit togeather quite well and since these pics were taken the helmet has gotten a new foam headliner and the jaw has been covered for a more finished look.
More pics to follow.

Where did you find those vent details??? They are exactly what I need for a detail on my DT jet pack.

This is a very cool helmet too, and I love the work so far!
