Star Wars Wedding.

Hey fellow Star Wars fans.

I am having a Star Wars wedding very shortly. I have already purchased my outfit (Dual-Wielding Dark Jedi )

I am looking to gear up both of my groomsmen as clone troopers.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some decent costumes for my groomsmen?

I'm not looking for absolute movie standards, but the best costume available on the open net that I saw was a Deluxe Commander Rex with some rubber rubbish.

Thank you.

P.S I am a total newbie with costumes and such.

P.P.S I also heard the armor is hard or impossible to sit down in, is this the case?

Ah sorry about this thread...after investigation. I really see that you guys do not like threads like these.

My apologies.

Hi Capz,

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals.

Clone armor must be assembled to be worn, and that isn't always easy. For most grooms, fitting and wearing a tux is about the length they will go to for their friend. Asking someone to build a suit of armor, fit it, paint it, and wear it through a wedding ceremony would stretch the limit a bit. ...and you are not supposed to wear white to a wedding, unless you are the bride.

I admire your ambition, but in all honesty, weddings are stressfull enough without the added complication of building sets of armor. It takes the average novice 6 months to a year to put together a suit. If you have done it before, you could do it in about a month.

If I haven't discouraged you, and you still want clone troopers, pm me and I can help you locate some armor.

Hey Clonesix,

Thank you so much for your reply. After doing some research and looking around, I have found a couple of great looking "Imperial Guard Helmets" (the red guys). So I'm thinking that might be a lot easier to get a robe, boots and gloves done for them. So I'm going to look around for some patterns and what not.

Also it has the added benefit of the groomsmen being able to sit :)

Thanks again/

isnt red bad luck for a wedding? lol I think the clone thing would be cool if you could borrow two costumes or even storm troopers

I would have loved to have done the Clone Trooper thing. Similar to the scene where Anakin storms the Jedi Temple.

Being out in Australia complicates things a bit as well, b ut I think Imperial Guard might be just as effective and...cheaper! yay.

Mate,

Don't give up on the Clone Troopers Idea yet! There is an Aussie Branch of the 501st Legion. Here is their home page

http://501tag.com/

The hard part of the whole deal is that if you don't have really good costumes it just looks like kids playing dress-up. These guys will help you if you drop them a line.

D'oh Aussie! I just sunk $400 on 2 Don Post Imperial Guard helmets.
Also purchasing jedi tunics/pants that are red.

Going to use http://sewing.patternreview.com/patterns/2554 pattern without the hood and arms. Assuming I can manage to get decent gloves, and good material for the robes. It should turn out OK.

A bit late for me to do the clone trooper thing now :( That place looks like it had some bargains.

P.s I'm from brisbane too!

p.p.s I just thought it might be cool to get some of those local 501st guys to rock up to the wedding for photos and such!

No Worries the Don Post Guards Helmets are some of this best work!

Are these the gloves you're looking for? https://secure.costumesplus.com.au/catalog/adultanakingloves

They'll be vinyl but hit them with a bit of weathering and they'll come up pretty schmick - Can't beat the price! Since you're getting Married, if you're not on a Budget now, you soon will be!

There's actually a Queensland Garrison. I'm not a member or even associated with them but I seen them in action at a couple of events

You could just have they guys put on clone helmets and you grab a light saber for a couple pictures. That way it would be fun, but pretty easy to do and undo. Just thinking outloud... Congrats btw!

I wanna see pics! :D BTW: How did you talk your bride to be into it?!?!?! Teach me your ways!

Mind tricks might work......

Any whoo, I totally support your idea. Any wedding that is Starwars is always a great wedding to be at.

I did my wedding reception in Starwars costumes. Not the total starwars theme I had hoped. Just me in vader without the mask and my wife in a amidala inspired gown with a very light ejwel headress.
but the guests were pleasantly surprised as they had no idea until to moment we walked into the red carpet.

Kuudos for the 501st Singapore legion who helped me make it possible!

I suggest something comfortable for your bride to be; Liea or amidala gown theme. Not some dancing twi'lek or CP3O!

so do not give up! but do give the respect to your bride to be and make sure she is willing.
