SchratVaders Airborne Trooper

Hello there, this is Ralf from Germany!!

as promised a little time ahead, i thinked it`s time to show my airborne build also here on TDH!! This is my first build ever and so the progress goes slow buts coming along!!

the armor is the short kit from OSCS, the Beehive from PGHFett and the Belt and other stuff from Steelblitz!!
( my thanks goes out to them for their awesome stuff )

i build up the shoes by myself, as base i`m using Fubu "Skyline" sneakers with the preferred sole!!

and that`s what they look today ( but not wheathered at this point )

most of the parts are glued together and rough sanded

to fill up the gaps i`m usin a 2 compound carbumper repairglue, so the need of a lot bondo is not necessary!!:D

today i`m doing a little test fist of my calves after heating them up to fit in the spoons!!

and last but not least my beehive (which needs a little more work on it )

so more progress will follow the next time, i`m waiting at time for some parts from Steelblitz but i`m glad that my kama and chestbuckle from General Fidelis have arrived!!

any comments and criticisms:facepalm from you are welcome!!

Hi SV, your parts look to be very nicely assembled. Smooth
seams. The airborne armor is definately very cool. Im looking
foreard to watching your progress!
Mike

thanks for your comments guys!!:D

@mike: yeah the seams are very smooth!! this 2 compound glue is perfect, it fills the gap and can be sanded very good, so you don`t need a much of bondo to fill up the seams!! but the glue is very expensive and you need a special primer before you apply the glue!!

Hello SchratVader really nice WIP, what glue are you using?

thanks!!
for the parts i`m using a glue named `Tangit` It`s a special glue for PVC-pipes but also to work with ABS!!
to fill up the gaps i used Teroson `Terokal9225`glue!! It´s normally used to repair plastic carbumpers!!
i got mine from Austria because here in germany it`s to expensive:wacko

That looks great. It can take a while to put one together but in the end, you will be a rock star at troops. This costume gets as much love as does Vader or Fett. Not too many people are familiar with it but because of all its detail, it is a real eye catcher! Best of luck.

thanks!! yeah the airborne trooper rocks and you`re right about the lot of details!!
this week i have fine sanded most of the parts and they are ready now to get primed!!

Hi Ralf,
Good Luck with primering your armor, don't use too much primer because you have to sand most of it away, if the layer is too thick.

Just a tip , so you won't make the mistakes I made :).

Tomorrow i will finish my armor with paint and looking back I have learned very much from my teacher Jeroen.

Good Luck man! I'm very intersted in seeing your project being finished.

you and Jeroen are building awesome Clones with a lot attention to details, that impressed me every time i see your progress!!
maybe we can meet in the near future because the Netherlands are not so far away from us!!;)

well, here is more progress of my build from the last week!!

i worked on the connection of the chest and backpiece, but found out that the back was a little bigger on the curvature than the chest, so i had to cut both pieces to fit my size and ironed a new edge in the back and chest under the arm!!
