That looks really cool. Are you going to do any more weathering to it? I only ask because the overall purple makes it difficult to see panel lines very clearly.
I can understand though that a Council member's droid would probably be well looked after and cleaned regularly.
I am going to weather the heck out of. Just have not gotten there yet.
Ok, just wondered.
I joined astromech.net recently to try and do an R4.
I'm going for a static prop and not going for 100% spec accuracy but just something good enough.
Are you going to use Dave Everett's styrene plans? That is what mine is from.
awesome crazy but awesome...alot of time?
Asok, the problem I'm having is getting access to a lot of the plans and schematics. I'm looking around on the boards and even joined the Yahoo group.
I have access to routers and I get scrap styrene and sintra from work its just getting the usable files.
Have you joined this group? http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/r2builders/
Yep thats the one. Pending.
gonna build an R2 on the cheap huh
Once they approve you, go to the files section and look for Styrene Droid Plans.
I have about $500 in him.It was the only way I could get my wife to say "Yes"
Doing a Styrene Droid is the way to go! All the flat styrene cost me about $150 and I got a second dome for about $50.
I'm no engineer or electronics wiz so it's the only way to go for me.
Looks great!
Excellent work.![]()
Also, he weights a whole 60 pounds!
Well today was R4-M6′s first troop!

Wow. Nicely done. I am amazed at the affordability coupled with how great it looks.
Is the dome just rub n' buff?
My girlfriend wants me to build her a droid. I can hardly find time to work on the other projects that i have.
Great job... She saw the droid room at CV and went nuts and took about a hundred pictures..lol
