    R4-M6 - Mace's Droid

Some as asked "Where has Asok been?" Well, I have been building a droid!

You can find more info about him HERE. Photos of my build HERE.

He is almost done. Right now he does not move, yet.

That looks really cool. Are you going to do any more weathering to it? I only ask because the overall purple makes it difficult to see panel lines very clearly.
I can understand though that a Council member's droid would probably be well looked after and cleaned regularly.

    Re: R4-M6 - Mace's Droid

    Ok, just wondered.
I joined astromech.net recently to try and do an R4.
I'm going for a static prop and not going for 100% spec accuracy but just something good enough.

Are you going to use Dave Everett's styrene plans? That is what mine is from.

About a year and a half. It is also about 95% styrene.

Asok, the problem I'm having is getting access to a lot of the plans and schematics. I'm looking around on the boards and even joined the Yahoo group.
I have access to routers and I get scrap styrene and sintra from work its just getting the usable files.

Once they approve you, go to the files section and look for Styrene Droid Plans.

I have about $500 in him. It was the only way I could get my wife to say "Yes"
Doing a Styrene Droid is the way to go! All the flat styrene cost me about $150 and I got a second dome for about $50.

I'm no engineer or electronics wiz so it's the only way to go for me.

Wow. Nicely done. I am amazed at the affordability coupled with how great it looks.

Is the dome just rub n' buff?

Thanks! Yes the dome is vac'd and rub n' buffed. There had to be a little Jango in there.
