Problems with my visor.

I Recently bought an Boss custom RC helmet and I Currently have lights installed and padding in place but I am having troubles with the visor :(. The visor is a very flexible piece of plastic that works like sunglasses and is being held in place by tape at the moment, problem is the tape isnt strong enough to hold it in place for prolonged periods of time and this creates a large gap between the visor and the helmet and I was wondering if anyone could give me a suggestion for a strong yet easily removable way of keeping it on. It needs to be removable because if the L.E.D's stop working for whatever reason I will have to remove the visor to replace them.

Any suggestions would be a great help. :D

I dont know much about this stuff yet, but what about glueing a thing layer of velrco on the visor and the inside of the helmet. That should hold and is removable.
Just a thought.

Yeah, the velcro might work out for you. I'm not really sure about the space that you have to work with the RC helmet. Another way would be a screw and nut system. You can glue the flat head of the screw to the inside of the helmet with a strong epoxy. Then you can screw on the nut to hold the visor in place. The visor will also end up perfectly flush against the helmet. If you need to remove the visor for whatever reason, you simply unscrew the nuts. I will try to post up some pics for you later this afternooon, bro. (y)

Thanks for the suggestions, I think the velcro would be more viable as the visor isnt much bigger than that gap and I could cut the velcro to size. Nut and bolt idea is good too but I think it might not be amazingly safe having the screw stick out towards my face in hte helmet.

the screw woudl be flat on the end of course and a little dab of hot glue on the end makes it softer, holds the nut on place, and is easily removed to unscrew the nut.

Hot glue also works. Just be careful when you pull away from the spot you are gluing that you don't get too much on the area you want to see out of!

I drilled holes in the sides of the visor and then jbwelded bolts inside the helmet at strategic points, like the corners that do not show.

I then placed the visor with the lined up bolt studs and then just used nuts to tighten it down. good thing with this is I can take the visor out to clean it.

Note- Use Bolts, do not use sharpened screws, not to mention bolts to not fit well on screws.

Second the hot glue route. I did that qand it is very strong, however with a little work it will come off too. You might also want to try upgrading your visor if it is really thin/flexible. On my Omega I used a welding mask similiar to what is used for TKs and then used window tint to give it a mirrored image.

I do have one question though, do you plan on blowing out your LEDs? I have had the same set in my helmet for 2 years now. Left them on for almost 2 months until the battery died(was in my box, didn't realize the switch got hit) and they still work.
