New Hunter
so the front of my lid looks decent, but when i turn it, i see this

A HORRIBLE GAP, D:

this is only on the right side. is this normal? or should i try to fix it?

thanks in advance

also, forgive the horrible picture quality

That is normal, its a common misconception that the trooper helmets were pristine and tidy, in reality most of them were sloppily assembled and painted, I would leave it alone, I have 3 TE helmets and they are all similar (y)

Mines the same bro and i also have an AP. as long as the front is good your fine. Also If you look at old references the suits look like they were built with rusty spoons!.. dont sweat it.

I have an AP, mine doesnt have as much of a gap. But what i did was slowly trim the ear to fit the shape of the helmet. BUT, like was mentioned a few times before, the originals were sloppily assembled, so its not that big a deal. If it bugs you, you can get new ears and just trim them slowly, trial and error, trim a little, check fit, repeat until your happy. =)

Yes, thats exactly how the helmets go. I got a TE helmet where Matt put it together before sending it to me. The gaps on that were just about the same, so you did good.

i have another question kind sirs, the tube stripes that came with the helmet have 13 stripes, but when i see the older helmets, they only have eleven. what is the correct number?

this might be a really stupid question, but after spending some time painting/removing paint from the helmet made me a bit dizzy...

I ditched the decals and painted my stripes using automotive pinstripping as a mask. Worked GREAT as the real stripes are not all exactly identical. The number of tube stripes also varies by the way. Ah the beauty of asymmetry.

asymmetry is the new symmetry lol. But really the gap is totally screen accurate and my AP had it as well. These helmets were thrown together pretty hastily for the movie.
