Plo Kloon WIP

Here's a few pics of a mask I have recently started for one of the guys in the Emerald Garrison.
Jedi Master Plo Kloon.
It is being built on a generic sized head so it should fit most.
Haven't quite decided on the final casting yet, might go silicone or foam latex.
The mouth piece is done in bronze resin with a fan and mic fitted. This will be mounted on seperate head straps that go under the mask. This should help make it more 'troopable' ie. you will be able to remove it. The eye pieces will also be finished in the same material.
Pics are off an Iphone so they're a bit shoddy. I'll take some better ones next week.

Wow, I will be watching this one just to see how amazing you can make it.

Yes the organic feel of the sculpture is great and the detailing on the mouthpiece is out of this world.

Finished the goggles yesterday. They are going to be held to the mask by magnets so there are no issues with hiding the fixings.
Decided to totally remake a face mask as I wasn't happy with how the tusks were sitting plus it was a bit on the heavy side! (that's the old face mask in the pic)
The new version is way lighter and much more refined as I managed to get rid of most of the casting joints. I also to got a much better finish from the bronze resin.

Love your sculpting style dig the quick connects you put on the sides of the faceplate.

Did the first pull a few days ago and painted it up last night. I also mounted in the high powered magnets that hold the goggles in position. I'm meeting up with the guy that commissioned this at the weekend for a general fitting and for making the harness that will hold the breather mask in position.

I'd love to know what you'd want for one of these, providing you ever do a run. This easily blows away any currently available Plo mask out there... bar none.

This guy is all finished now.
The breather mask snaps onto the main mask using popper fasteners so was able to do away with the under harness. The dendrils just detach from their connectors.
The whole costume is being unveiled at Invasion Belfast 3 at the beginning of October so I'll post up some pics with the costume then.

Currently doing Tarfful on the side. 3 other guys in the Emerald Garrison including our resident Wookie Master Dougie Fett are all making Wookies.
But I'm really toying witha few different ideas for the next build after Tarfful. I have a ton of commissions to get through first so it'll be a while away yet.
Any of you guys got any suggestions?

I only happened upon this site today and I honestly can't believe my eyes at how someone can be so talented and that finished mask is stunning, what surprises me even more is that the creator of such a masterpiece is from the same little country as me
