Noob in need of a budget tk kit that could potentially be mad e 501st acceptable
I am a noob and am currently after the cheapest possible ANH TK costume that could still be approved by the 501st with slight tweaks and alterations. I was going to do pepakura, but soon realized that would not yield me an accurate costume and would be more costly timewise and moneywise in the end. I am looking to piece this baby together but have no idea where to start looking. I've been told ebay is the devil, so I will not consider that.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
To add, I am on a very small budget, but have tons of time to build it. I am about 5 10' and 150ish lbs

Being kinda new my self the best advice I can tell you is use search bar and read, read, read. A lot of the forum members are willing to help but you need to know the right questions to ask.
Look for templates that will match your size. For an inexpensive first build try Trashcan Armor. That's what I'm doing. For a bucket do you want to spend less but do a bunch on mods to try and get it approved or do you want to spend a bit more and know it will get approved? The Hasbro bucket will be a lot of work and I am not sure it will be approved?
Are you doing a Jango, Boba, or other build? I think only the 1st two are approved for the 501st. If you go with the third you can look at joining the Mandolorian Mercs.
Introduce yourself, have a look around, read a lot, and ask questions.
Oh and welcome to the forum.
Cheers,
Robert

If you're making a stomtrooper you might want to head over to FISD First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment

Keep in mind that the hobby is NOT cheap. But trying to make your own can cost as much or more in time and materials.

FISD is the place to go. The cheapest TK I can imagine building will still run you around $500. Just be prepared for that.

$500?? For the armor itself? yeah. But then you still need everything to put it together (epoxy, rivit tool, dremmel, and double sided velcro) and either under armor top and bottoms, or a skin suit. Then you need gloves and boots. I got my armor alone for about $500. By the time everything was said and done and I got 501st approval, it was more like $700-$800. But stormtrooperguy is right, either FISD or I got mine at whitearmor.net
