just let us know when you've made any progress![]()
That Blaster is gorgeous looking! Are you going to make the hand gun as well?
Skip as always your work is grade A.
Thanks a lot guys.![]()
Man alive! That is some awesome work! I'm going to keep an eye on this thread while trying to convince the wife to let start "another" project.![]()
It's looking fantastic, can't wait to see some more!
No pic updates but I have started to release the armor in sections while I finish modelling the legs. f anyone's interested then please feel free to go by my blog to see more and for pricing info.
Thanks for all the interest here guys, I'll be hoping to have updates on those legs soon!
I want to see this thing built. I might have to undergo the task.
thank you thank you thank you...awesome
Woot! Skip your awsome man, loving the RC build so far, Im gonna start on the Helmet next I think. Good idea on the blaster going use styrene on mine as well I think, looks like that makes a much sturdier base.
Bang on buddy! I don't think I'd ever make a weapon from a pep file(as the 405th have dubbed them) using card and fibreglass!! Not when with a little extra work you get much better results with styrene!!![]()
Love this so much! I just wish I was a 6 foot man sometimes *sigh* It would be an awesome costume to wear.
All I have to say is wow!!! I've been out of the loop for a while (been deployed). I can't wait to see the finished products
This i so NICE! i bought the templates some days ago, and they are great, almost done with the helmet now, and i think i looks good so far.
I do have a question though, the 4 little rektangular pieces on the side of the helmet, are they turning inwards or outwards?? I have seen both things, and i can't find any official pictures of the helmet, so i can see what's right. On your blog Skip, you posted pictures from your mates helmet, and they pointed inwards, though your templates says the opposite?????

Hey guys,
I've started a new thread for my DC-17 build. It's on again now with a vengence!

I'm in the UK so my source may not be of any use to you mate??
It's ABS 1mm thick. Though for some areas I double or triple up for strength. Upon saying that you can buy styrene from 0.25mm up to at least 10mm thickness. Though the 1mm works fine for me.
wonderful! im plannin on makin a republic commando costume... but have no experience and have no idea what kind of materials to use.... any help would be awesome!
Ke mu'jurkadir sha Mando'ade...
So sorry I havent checked in lately. Been kinda busy. Anyway, this is just simply amazing work. Are you using some 3d program to lay out the design? If not, you are blowing my mind, if so; you are still blowing my mind. LOL! Sorry, ScotchIrish American with too much whiskey in system. But still, your work is absolutely incredible!
Hey,
Yeah I model the whole thing in 3D, then use another software to "unfold" that model to produce 2D templates.
They allow me to build it in the real world then. Much easier than "Old Skool" techniques. Not that I'm knocking those techniques at all!![]()
Really amazing work!
I'm new to TDH and costume/prop making. What do you use for your figure reference/size guide while in 3D to make sure it translates out at the correct size for patterns and templates?
Thanks - looking forward to seeing more of your work!!
Well, for the armor I sent a load of reference material over to a good friend of mine. We opted to only use game reference and not any photos of the figures, PA kits or other RC armor.
He drew me up some blueprints of the RC armor and helmet based on those pics. He drew the blueprints over a human male template that matched my own human male base 3D model to ensure they both matched and that the proportions were correct.
Then I just modelled it all using only the blueprints he created for me. Couldn't have done it without him.![]()
Oh, check my DC-17m build thread for the latest.

I really wish I would have gotten at least the helmet file before he retired it... Bust
Nice work Gambo'! I see you modified the snout? I don't blame ya, that ridges for the aerators was my least favorite part.![]()
can some one help me with doing the dome i cant get it to come out right
Why? What's wrong?
WOW! Now thats what I call talent!
Outstanding job!!
Thanks very much.![]()
I have an interest in the template for this Clone Trooper Armor and other armor on here. I keep trying to go to the website the contains the blog and I keep getting redirected before I can do anything. Is there some place else I can download this and Fett Armor? I really can't afford to buy armor on ebay cuz my wife won't let me right now and I really want some armor for Star Wars CV. My email is dirthmunkey@yahoo.com if you or anyone can help. Please no spam. Thanks.
The redirect has been reported and I'm awaiting a response. The files aren't free to download I'm sorry. They're for sale and vary in price. The RC armor is $48 for the whole bundle which gives you armor, helmet and backpack.
That is excellent. I can pay for it next pay day. Other things that I am looking for Boba Fett Armor. I have the helmet, gauntlet, and the pack. I think that there is armor, leg and torso armor? Are there other pepakura files for other armor on your blog site? Thank you so much for your help man!
Ok, well PM me for payment details when you're ready.
As for other files they're all listed at the blog. When you go to the blog and it starts to redirect you. Click on the big red "X" in your toolbar to prevent the redirct going further. Then click "Back to get to the home page. It works for me.
For Boba or Jango armor then WixardofFlight is your guy. Search for posts/threads started by him and you'll find his work. His templates are top notch.
<3 thank you
Amazing work bud I really love the DC
