got all the parts bondoed and sanded , here is the chorme paint on the armor to start the paint.
the cod is unpainted because i am going to cover it in cloth then paint it.

i hope once i dye the cuberbund grey ,it will look a little slimmer. i have to get the pouches looking right too. the cumberbund is the prototype. lots of room for improvement.

Oh I'm liking it alot bro!! I'm thinking of doing a 1/6 scale Kashyyk Trooper by modding a Biker Scout. It wouldn't be 100% accurate but close enough for display I think. It's my way of getting a Kashyyk fix until I can get a set. LOL! Anyway, I'll be watching as usual but looking out for paint pics .

if you have followed my tutoral thread on bsn then you watched me build this. anyhoo here is me in the armor. what a mess!!! still alot of adjustment needs to be done to get this troooper trooping!!!!!!
i still need my belt and buckle. the 2 side pouches. i need to repaint my helmet so it matches the new base coat of the armor. get the correct pockets done on the pants, and get an acurate cumberbund. it needs to be all grey not brown and grey. these are just what i noticed! LOL!! but i am getting there. i know angelo and the one or 2 other KST's are getting lonely. so i am trying to get this done for dragon con in september.

Outstanding!!!!!! I've been looking for good KST boots this morning in prep for my own costume. Seeing you in your gear just makes me want a set of my own even more!!!!!

boots are tuff on this costume, because the best ones are kennethcole pit crew and the gbx's. which is hard to find due to that fact that jangos,GM's and KST's wear the same boot.

i was lucky. i found my gbx's here on tdh, a month ago there was 3 pair for sale on ebay.
just be patient and you will find a pair.
Yeah, not always easy for me. LOL! I did spot a nice pair of Sketchers that I thought were close but they were only a size7.

the helmet is way too green. the armor color is more accurate to the screen used stuff.

i am currently resculpting the face of the helmet to make it more screen accurate. i am trying to capture the gree scene look. my old helmet looks like the battle scene helmets and it was my first helmet sculpt so there was room for improvment.

boomer, there is the discount for the guys who bought my first sculpt!
we will work something out.
well i was in the middle of the version 2 sculpt and relized it was too big for me. guys 6'2" would love the version 2 which i plan to finish at a later date. i am 5'8" 165 pounds.
anywhoo. i took a reject helmet casting and started cutting away at it to make it look more like the gree scene helmet instead of the battle scene helmet. the first helmet was my first sculpt so there was room for improvement.
i made the face and helmet about a half inch taller. i widen the lens hole and norrowed the snout. i am trying to get this as close as possible to the gree scene KST. also i am trying to improve the vision of the person wearing it.
here is some size comparisions with my old helmet and pghfett's helmet.
i still hafve a along way to go , but this sculpt is going pretty quickly.
NICE! I see the differences, as subtle as they first appear. I think I said it before but your dedication to this lid and the armor is inspiring!

here are some update shots, the lens hole is driving me nuts along with the ear vents. but it is coming slowly but surely.
here is the helmet thus far. i glued the viser in place so i can mold the helmet and viser as one piece. that means not having to go through with the viser attachment and should help with distortion of the viser in the mold. i am trying ot make this helmet build friendly as possible.
the helmet is getting there i hope to be done soon. mainly at this stage i am trying to fix symetry issuses. LOL

voorhees, that is how i started. saw others work and thought that might look like fun. sculpting your own stuff, is very rewarding and can be very fustrating at the same time, but i love doing it.
SUCCESS!!!!! i made the mold over the last three days and i am getting some decent pulls. the helmet and the viser is one piece. it is a little heavier than the first helmet. but no more having to fool with visers and making them fit!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA i am a a happy camper.

here is my finished KT!!!!! yay!! couple of minor adjustments i am going to make , but this is the costume i will be submiting to my GML. i scratch built the armor and helmet, soft parts from friends, the gauntlet greebs from acrylikhan and the gloves by gaspar gloves. the boots are gbx;s , the cumberbund by my friend donna. thanks to every body who helped and critque the build of this custume. thanks to BSN for the reference pics. please let me know what you think.

Are some of the pouches crooked? Sorry if that sounds mean, I was just wondering as it's either my eyes, or if you attached them with velcro or something, they're just leaning. It looks great though buddy.
yeah, they are attached by velcro and are a pain to keep perfectly straight. they move and twist with the cumberbund and if you bump one at the bottom they twist a little bit.

i figured around a 1000- 1400 to do the costume right. that is buying the kits and all the soft parts , getting them altered and so forth.
i have more in my fett. i think around 2 k in my fett.

Finished (rubies reworked lid). I took a chance on an ebay auction with one bad pic. MonCal armor and everything except the boot holster (I just ordered it) It came with a black flight suit, boots, voice amp, gloves etc. Just asked him a lot of questions. It was his first auction with a VERY bad description and worse photo. I got LUCKY!!! (its been two months and I am still doing a happy dance) LadySewForUs is making me accurate flight suit and cumberbun and I will get a MonCal lid then I am finished and ready to start the KT.
