My Scratchbuilt Galactic Marine - 99% Completed

Snowflake

New Hunter
Well, here i am, after three years i was starting to believe i would never write a topic like this...

I started this project almost three years ago, i wanted to make a clonetrooper, and i choose the GM because i thought it was a good choice for "larger" guys like me. Since the very beginning i decided that i wanted to make everything from scratch... well i worked insanely hard the last month and yesterday i made my first troop with the 501st Italica Garrison (i've been a recruit for three years now!) and here are a bunch of pictures for you guys!

This week end we had a major convention here in Rome, and i worked hard to build and set up the huge 501st boot we had this year. We had Jeremy Bullock as a special guest and i also had to attend the Spaghetti Prop (the Prop Forum i created last year) boot... Anyway i manage to complete the costume enough to be worn decently: still missing bicep bandolier, chest armor and chest bandolier greeblies, belt greeblies and straps to the kama, and kama grey border. Also the cowl is still to be made properly, the one in the pics was glued in place 5 minutes before i wore the costume.

The blaster is a Hyperfirm my friend Dark-Side gave me for the event, since i still need one.

You can find the progress thread here:

comments and suggestion are very well welcome!

Wow, you did an excellant job. I have been following you since day 1, and I have enjoyed your scratch building thread. Get those last odds and ends that you mentioned done, and weather up the fabric and you are good to go!

I have to agree with James. You have some really amazing talent. I think the only thing on the suit that isnt up to par would be your belt boxes. Upgrade those to something better and you will have a suit most anyone would envy. :cheers

you're both right, i didn't had the time to weather the fabric and the belt boxes where made yesterday morning in a big hurry... give me a month and i'll make it a 100 per cent! :D

il grande lavoro il papa sarebbe orgoglioso per indossare quel cappello! LOL!
check with steelblitz he's got some GM stuff right now and again looking good and best of luck with the rest.

Dark-Side is crying for me to say that he helped me a lot in the making of the armor... my friend, without your help i wouldn't have made it, thank you!

Great job...great pics! I'll definitely be checking out your progress thread.

BTW: Judging by your expression in the 5th pic where you're taking your helmet off, it must be a little warm and difficult to breath inside this lid with the cowl.

Wow Snowflake. That is superb mate. TOTALLY scratchbuilt....COOL.

I'm doing a Bacara build at the moment so I have a soft spot for Galactic Marines.

Well done ner vod.

He is always crying about something, so don't listen to him. Great job and any progress?

some more pics of my costume, i'm missing only the kama trim and the buckle below the belt... and the cowl is not very nice and has to be redone...

what do you guys think? I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, everything being scratchbuilt (except for the shoes which are heavily modified :) ).
