I think it looks better tbh. ah - I realised I should have shown u more pics of the bucket part, as there is an extension into the face plate bit to maintain its co-hesiveness

bib actually still looks in proportion. think the lid is REALLY taking shape now!

here's a sneak peek at the chest armor. long way to go on that.

and here is the new shoulder bell compared to one of the first pulls from the first one i made. (raw casting) still in the final shaping phase before i smooth it out. made it deeper because me and nate felt it would be a touch to small.

gonna dig out me clone shoulder bell and see how it looks on my shouder - mind you I am not a big fella - abt 5'9''

chest is also a strange combination of scout biker and clone. the pec details are more akin to clone I think

will post once I find it!

update, i started so sand away on this bad boy. i have to get the face plate done and molded. to finish the back. if i want to make this an open face helmet. i have rounded off the top dome and the back part. also i cut the vents back to be more accurate. i am also going to carve in the vents under the eyes and the ones on the back. looking ugly right now , but it is getting there.

gawd - I feel like the naggin mother whose never satisfied (and man do I know wot its like to be on the receiving end of that!)

I know its far from being the fisnished product, but is there some asymmetry of the bottom edge of the faceplate? flare on the left looks a little long in the face and rounded outwards.
Looks like u have been workin on the flare on the right - I like the look of the increased 'flared angle'

vents look nice - but are they cannon?
Mr Bungle - dibs on the 1st cast when it comes out ;P

as far as i can tell , you can either paint the vents or carve. i chose carve. the vents at the top are canon.

ps , i get the first casting , you want second??

ps , i get the first casting , you want second??

rofl of course mate - maker always get the 1st 1st cast.
I meant the 1st cast of the 'for sale' run ;D

didnt notice vents before - darn, back to DVDs for me! I personally prefer carved in - but it might prove a problem to replicate repeatedly (might be a plus side to frustrate recasters!) ALternately, loads of people out there who could make decals if it proves too difficult (TK4510 on FISD immediately springs to mind!)

man - u were right abt the bell. looks bigger and much more like movie now!

rough edges - pffft looks better than other armour I;ve seen mate.

nice work on the elbow piece btw - noticed the new back flare

Nate

after years of research the team at bungle technologies have finally figured out that god **** viser and have it in somewhat of the correct shape.

hmmm looks a bit too acute maybe?

thats judging from this image mostly and from ROTS movie stills - which arent great tbh
but tahts the problem with this lid isnt it?

I see u got the vent on top penciled in already :D

i see what you are saying. the liner is just to give it shape until i can bondo and sand it to the correct shape. that thing has been giving me fits......

here is a sneakpeek at the back tank. it is too cold to work outside so i made this last night for the basic shape. then bondo, i am going to sculpt the plate seperately to save clay and rubber. make a finished tank then attach it to the prototype backplate then finish both for molding.

here is the helmet as it sits now. i made the chin come straight down and tried to narrow the flares. got the viser starting to look right. starting to come together.

nice as usual Tom

visor - u were right, doesnt look as turned in as ur earlier WIP photo. looks right now. or are u still having nightmares abt it? ;P

cheek flairs - symmetry is always a prob, but ur left falir looks better than ur right, not just in the say it looks, the left flair seems to have a nicer, more natural curve to it. Also - the left looks correct from the fact that the face plate sits a bit lower than the back bucket bit (compared to right - which is in the same line as the bucket)

under the eyes - nothing to critisize man; just wanted to say; all the complex curves there look like a beaut!! as do the vents.

above eyes - the 3 rectangles - just moldin or clamp impressions? or meant to be there?

over-all front-back dimension also looks much better

man - this is goign quick!
