My first steps into a larger world. . .

New Hunter
I know that I've jumped from wanting to do one costume to another, but we've finally committed ourselves to our first costumes. It was quite hard to talk my dad into this from the beginning, though. "I don't want a face character." "I want a helmet." "I don't want to be another white stormtrooper." :rolleyes Sheesh! I couldn't even convince him to do any clone comanders until Rex. Cap'n Rex really clicked with dad.

So I just wanted to ask some people who actually know what they're doing if I'm getting stuff from good sellers.
I'm looking at the armor from oscs. I've read a lot of good reviews on those guys. That and their armor looks really nice

Body suit- I was considering UnderArmour's heatgear stuff. Being in Arizona, I figure that would be a good choice.
We're going to make the kama and pauldron ourselves.
Rangefinder- can I buy a Fett RF? Does it look the same? I want the rangefinder to go up and down (I'll get something from hyperdyne) too.
Dunno where to get boots or weapons from, though.

We'll be buying the helmet soon, and hopefully get some painting going next!

Thanks, all!

Sorry, I'm out of it. Got into a vehicle accident and have happy drugs right now. What kind of clone are you planning on doing? An ARC trooper?

Captain Rex from the CW. So yeah, I guess an ARC. I've gotten some info off of CT.net about paint colors and such. We know a little bit about cloth, so the kama and pauldron shouldn't be too hard to make (we'll wait till after we get the armor though, so we make those the right size).

Where (or who) to get the rangefinder, boots, and weapons (including the mini pistols and holsters) from are my bigger problems. Mere details, really. ;)

Are you doing movie style or animated/CW style Rex?

that's the big question really.

for toon style...

oscs / kwdesigns is almost done with his toon armor. scifire g2 is working on theirs too. i'm building a kit as well, but am not planning to make any outside of our base/garrison unfortunately.

scifire g2 has their helmet available, and ours is too. you can find posts about both projects either here or on the animated-army.com site.

attack of the clones style is really just standard clone with accessories.

Movie style, go with the vendors I suggested if you want in the pm I sent you. Marcello's is working on a Phase I bucket as well. If it looks as great as his animated ones, it'll look killer!

Cool, thank you so much! Man, I've spent soooo much time trying to find that stuff and all I'd hit were dead ends. I appreciate your help. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics of progress soon!

You're very welcome! It's always great helping someone out, it makes this a lot more fun and helps to bring new members into the clone brotherhood ner'vod
