My ESB Darth Vader Progress

Well here's what i have of my ESB Darth Vader. Its coming along quite nicely. Im trying to get a mix of both movie prop suit, and a trooping suit, so when im not trooping i'll have a very nice display

The helmet is made by our very own Darth Voorhees. To this day i still just have to pick it up and admire it. The dome is held on by 4 earth magnets that were bondoed into the fiberglass giving the dome a nice tight, non floppy fit.

Do not know the orgins on the Chestbox, but got it in kit form and put it together. has aluminum rods with brass end greebles. All other greebles are resin, and the box is gelcoat fiberglass. I had some custom straps made as well that look very flexed and worn. Still looking a light kit though.

Gloves were made by CP. They are shorter than most and really match up well to some of the ESB promo vader shots. (you know the one where he's walking with the two storm troopers on each side)

The belt boxes were completely made from scratch by myself. The boxes are accuratly sized and not huge like the portumac ones. Made the circuits for the inside and runs off 4 AA batteries in each box. For screen accuracy i added the weathering to them. (weathering just makes everything more believable :love )

Below is a sucky pic, i was trying to test the head tilt position that vader has and almost didn't make it in the pic before it went off. But the robe and cape in the pic are 100% wool and satin lined. The sircoat has the correct 3 pleats on each side at the waist and has the leg slits. (will get better pics when it cools down)

The shins are GT Abs shins and the boots are weathered Midcalf Harley davidson riding boots.

On order is a set of shoulder armor from Kent Stone of Stonestudiocreations.com Hopefully tomorrow my Russrep belt buckle will be in. I had it made into a functional belt buckle and it will be attached to a tooled leather belt with the accurate pressed lines on the top and bottom. The two piece body suit im having my lovely mother do, as she's sewed things for me ever since i was born....i just have to pay her for this lol. Also have a cod piece coming from a friend over at the 501st detachment. I think i'll be done then. But when completely suited up i'll be around 6'5.

Kent makes great stuff!

Dude, i cant wait for you to finish this, its gonna rock! BTW, nice helmet!:p

I found a set of chest lights for ya.....PM sent

thanks Lou. I got my tooled leathe belt in today with the correct grooves pressed in. Also had a Russrep buckle attached to it, and made to work like a real buckle like the stunt belt. (adds a bit of realism and makes it easier in the dressing up part lol)

But i went ahead and attached the boxes i made and bam, i now have a finished belt. (has a lightsaber hook attached out of pic)

Im thinking about taking in the inner rober under the arms a bit to make it look tighter. this is the pic that im using as inspiration. being that i don't have his chest muscles i'll have to improvise since they natually pushed the robe apart, making it look tighter.
