Going to make a Kylo Ren costume for my husband for Halloween. Thought I'd share about it now to see if anyone else had plans for this and could offer a few ideas. Thanks.

Suggest you join the knights of ren page in facebook, everybody there providing great ideas and sharing their progress, you can see my build there as well, im doing it on a budget and on a fast pace to be ready for halloween and the movie premiere, but there are builders going above and beyond on accuracy

also you may want to join the replica prop forum, there is a few runs on helmets and raw materials (cloth) that may be helpful

best of luck with your build, Kylo its a neat costume

    Very nicely done!

I have several images and info printed from the RPF site. I went there after checking here, BHG, and 501st sites. Not a big fan of faebook and I don't have an account, but I'll give it a shot for info. I will say that I found a pattern on Ebay, that if altered correctly, would be a proper base for this costume (I think!). McCalls 5907 if you're interested in giving me your opinion. It's an older pattern, so not going to be sold in most stores. Just to ask, where did you get the outer tunic material? What's it called and serial numbers, if you have those? I found some that I thought would work, locally, but it's $26 a yard. I'd need about $200 worth and that's a bit rich for a homemade costume.

Thank you for sharing your information and picture. Really appreciate it!

plagu3is on the Sith Lord Detachment recently did a run of his v1 Kylo Ren gloves, they're now being sold on Trooperbay so if you search for Kylo Ren gloves on Trooperbay it should pop up. Though I believe he's currently working on v2.

jdos on therpf (JDOS Props on Facebook) has started doing a run of his Kylo Ren gloves as well, though I think you have to e-mail him (Kylo Ren Leather Gloves)

I think there might be more people doing gloves as well but can't remember off the top of my head. Hope this helps.

Trooper bay seems to have the most affordable gloves. The detail compared to the reference photos are not bad. I am likely going to pick up a set from them and share. I do not feel like smacking down $150 or so for gloves after my Fett build

Missed you asking about this build up there, sorry.

To be honest, I'm in the looking state, though we bough the Target helmet and have an FX sword on it's way. I've got printouts of the CRL that's most likely going to be approved, some material bought for the pleated items, and a pattern I can alter. I've been eyeballing boots and trying to see if the black cavalry boots he's got could be enhanced or to buy Funtasma's black walker boots. I think the Walker boots would only need another strap to make it right. You can look at the link below to see critique it and get back with me.

The gloves from Trooper Bay do not have the etching on the inside of the glove. Any ideas how I'd get that accomplished without destroying the gloves? Their price is in line with what I could pay.
Men's Funtasma WALKER 130 Knee High Boots BLACK Large / 12-13 D(M) US

Edit: We are trying to get as close to the charater as possible, but if we don't get a 501st approval type created, it's okay. It's for Halloween mainly.
