Imperial Knight Ganner Krieg returns

The Clone Emperor

Active Hunter
I'd like to share a neat update on this project;

Legacy23.jpg

As a precursor to the second Legacy story arc involving the Imperial Knights, Ganner Krieg makes an appearance in the twenty-third issue. Just over a month before, per artist Jan Duursema's request, I sent in a number of stationary, combat, and piloting poses in costume.

While my physical appearance had served as the model for the character, this was the first tyme my actual costume was used as reference by the artist. I find Jan's completed line art transformation of the images to be magical.

Be well,
Thomas

"S" is for...

By the way, any updates from your Darth Bane?

Since you should ask...I do have an update handy;
DarthBaneP10.jpg

It is difficult to envison just how Darth Bane's exotic body armour would come together as a lifesized, wearable costume, especially when it has never been done before. Experience has taught that the best way to achieve a feel for the final piece is to start putting the parts together. This test configuration is held in place with Elder pins.

Even though it may appear I am in the home stretch with this extended project, it will be extended a bit further. I feel the weight of Darth Bane's disappointment, glaring at me from behind his unpainted face mask in the corner of the room. Truth is, I am now diverting my energies towards a secret project, hopefully to be revealed later this year.

Be well,
Thomas

Imperial Knight Ganner Krieg Interview II

Greetings,

I recently came across footage of a spontaneous interview from New York Comic Con 2009 that I'd like to share;

(Click on the video still to view)

This is one of the rare instances that I do not cringe at the sound of my own voice.

While I personally feel my suit is presentable, I still require a great deal of work before I would call Version 1 complete. I hope to attend to the next upgrade to the suit, custom cast red straps for the underside of the bracers, in tyme for my next convention, Motor City Comic Con.

Be well.
Thomas

"I have come to take you home"--Imperial Knight Ganner Krieg

Portrait by Jan Duursema, for SW Legacy Issue 35, Dark Horse Comics.
Jan first told me about this portrait at NYCC 2009. Now that the comic has been released, I can share. I find it fascinating to see the development of the character. (¡And flattering!)

¡Thank you Jan!

¿Egon, eh?
If I were to enter the Ghostbusting fandom, I'd care to aim for Vigo.

Ganner Krieg: MWG032

In preparation for my garrison trading card, I upgraded my suit and took a series of photographs.

Upgrades include a new fitted collar, and the knee pads as described visually in SW: Legacy 10. (Knee pads are in progress.)

I also attempted to tweak the straps on my bracers to better match the comic reference. I made rigid red straps, but I was struggling to arrive at a functional solution. Due to the trading card deadline, I left the braces as they have been.

What I would like is a hardware solution that could be concealed under the bracer and that would also allow for adjustment of the straps. Currently I use elastic bands, which while fine for a first run solution, are ultimately not very durable.

Be well,
Thomas
