Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
:supriseSo I was walking thru Target this weekend and I happened across a new endcap in the toy section, really cool stars wars stuff. One of these items is the Hasbro clone trooper voice changer helmet. This is surprisingly well put together toy, and really looks close to the clone wars character, so I had to pick one up. And it was only $30!:wacko It also has voice command buttons with about a dozen clone trooper sayings. So go out and check it out, deffinately worth getting your hands on it. If anything, it's great for a good start on my sons' halloween costume, or one for me for that matter, it's big enough for adults.
Has anyone else seen this? Whatcha think?

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I saw it. I personally played around with it for a bit. Really cool and appeared very wel made. The visor looked weird to me but I am sure people are moding then as we speak! They did some really nice stuff with the new toy line!

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I was just at toys r us for the first time since they came out with this stuff, and I was really tempted to get the helmet. Looks like it can be made to look decent with a little bit of work, however, Im hoping to get one of the EFX's clone helmets :wiggle:
The new Millenium falcon is HUGE btw
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
The new helmet looks awesome!! very tempted. I saw the small clone blaster right next to it and I thought it would be a graet start to a kids halloween clone costume if only someone made the armor.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
We had looked at the helmets on Friday night wondered how it might work in our clone helmets. So, here is my review:
So, I bought one to see what it was like. That way others did not need to buy one if they do not like the features. As of 11am Saturday morning, I had it taken apart.
It runs on 3 AA batteries and the main board is nice and small. The only problem that I found is that it does not change you voice, just adds static, and you must press a button for the amp to turn on. When you press the button, you get the ssshhh sound and then again when you release the button. It also adds a static sound when you talk as well.
Conclusion, it would work great with clone armor if, you want to run a wire from your bucket to your hand plate to press the button.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Yeah I saw that helmet yesterday when me and my nephew were scouring around the toy section. Seeing a bunch of new toy lines of the Clone Wars that come out. I personally think that the visor is a little to big but hey its a toy for the kids and possibly you adults. I did not get it as I did not have enough money. I was thinking of getting some clone toys but instead got a lightsaber for my costume. Next time when I go to the stor I am definetly going to be getting some of the new toy-lines.....
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I bought one too. Not bad for the price. Probably give it to my nephew for Halloween.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Wow...That is very impressive for a Hasbro helmet!! Anyone know what other types of "stuff" they got out for The Clones Wars film???
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
good call asok! I was debating on picking it up to check out the voice amp. so thanks for saving me time and money!:cheers
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Dang! That is nice, wish they had some Boba helmets!

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Besides anything else of what they got they have a clone trooper blaster that shoots darts, a stormtrooper blaster that makes sounds when fired, and general grievous blaster from episode III. In actual toys they have the characters from the movie in toy form....general kenobi, skywalker, rex, and a clone trooper. These are things that I am thinking of going to get when I go get my clone blaster.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
The visor is HUGE, but it looks good. A person who is into making "a few special modifications" could pro'ly do wonders with it.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I went to Wham-Alart today and had one of these babies in the shopping cart. Mrs. Fett scolded me and made me put it back sob sob :cry.....
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
i'm thinking about picking one up and re-sculpting the visor area. it's actually pretty cool looking, especially for the price!
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I looked at these Friday night as well and thought about the possibility of modding it. But... then I found about 8 cases of the new figure line unopened so I got them to crack those open for me and bought a 1st day release of all of them except the repack of the battle damaged Vader.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Hrmm, I'll have to decide between getting one of those or another Indiana Jones action figure...

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
there are actually 4 differnet kinds. the red one is at target and the white and blue ones are at walmet. thered one has a camera thing liek cody's but longer and some extra greeblies.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
So red, white and blue...and the forth is?
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
this is a great helmet . bigger ,and better shape then rubies by far, price is affordable, and very eazy to modd for trooping ,or for a mold. i think alot of people will be troopin in these. in my opinion i would fix the vizor ,fiber inside ,and give it a killer paint job. oh and studio trooper. you go back with out you chick an get your helmet!
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I was at Wal-Mart today and was checking those out and playing with the buttons. I'm hoping I'll get one for Christmas (and the Millenium Falcon) I had the money but I bought a 12" German Soldier to get the last Ark sticker I needed. I also grabbed the last 2 1st day issue Clone Wars figures that were there.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Do you guys recommend this as a good buy?
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Looks good Ceric! Post some photos of your mods on this helmet. I have been thinking of doing some mods on mine as well. Adding some Commander yellow paint and mayhap some battle wear as well. Keep us posted on your mods and I will do the same! :albino

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Cant Wait to Mod Mine. I wish they Would make Republic Commando Helmets
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I'm actually thinking of picking up two of these things, now... one ot leave as-is, the otehr to mod and repaint to use as an alternate for my mando.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
The photoshopping makes it look pretty sweet!
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Just remember that these are not very accurate and require work. They are like the DPs of the clone helmets. Off the shelf they look just plain wrong, but with a lot of love you can make it look pretty decent and be able to pull it off. :thumbsup

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Wow that acutally looks really good. How would you fix the width of the visor though?
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
WOW!!! You say the light really works?!?:suprise That is awesome!!! I'm gonna get one, rip off the light, and stick it on my bucket! To bad they don't come out till October.:cry
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Does the one with the light have a voice changer?
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
It looks like it has the voice changer on that helmet too because the buttons are also present.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I've got one of these and I'm in the middle of modding it myself (see it here). I think there are great possibilities with this bucket - much like how many have successfully modded the Rubies and DP into workable Fett and Mando helms.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I just got one of these to mod.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I'm seriously thinking on picking up one of these to mod and use as an Arc trooper.
Hopefully after I've recouped some of my costs after FanExpo, I'll finally get one. ;)

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target

Here you can see the blue helmet and red helmet in the handbook.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Would it possible to use some kind of one way decal or something on the visor? I know that on motor bike helmet visors they use something that they can put on the visor that still lets them see out. That way you would still have the improved visibility of this bucket, I'm presuming this is why that made it how it is.
-
Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
They don't ship overseas!!! :cry
Not that I want a clone helmet though, I was more interested in their FX lightsabers! :o

so do you mean you can cover the visor with a sticker to make it more realistic and still be able to see through it on the inside of the sticker?:?

I think Bossywalker means window tinting that darkens the visor a shade or two. As it is, the Hasbro Clone visor isn't very dark and the flash of a camera shows the face behind the mask.
Yes, it is possible, but it might not be worth it. The visor is plastic and may not like the tinting material too well. Of course, I've never tried it, so I don't know for certain.:b

Now my question is How did you fill in around the visor and get it so perfect? I would assume it is filler of some sort? that is a superb job. may have to pick one of these up to hang on to for future use.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
i'll start up my own thread on it so as not to clutter things up too much here.

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
I myself recently bought one of These helmets and i brought it back the next day!!!
All it is is false advertising i bought one with the high hope of being able to make my voice sound like a clone trooper and my hopes were xcrushed!!. I t doesent change your voice all it does is amplify it and thats just barely !! I wouldn't recomend buying one of theses!! When i went to return teh helmet at target turns out that the helmet had a defect and other ppl were returning their helmets. However the good news is that a new and working helmet will be relesased on October 16 and this one even has a light. So i im gonna buy one. But if your like me and hate waiting i recomend buying the Darth Vader voice changer helmet that one actuallyy works and its pretty cool 2.!!
That is all just wanted to warn those of you that havent bougth one yet =)

Re: Hasbro clone trooper helmet at Target
Wasn't sure if I wanted this to be my first post on the awesome website, but sadly, it is.
That being said, I have to say, I was very happy to see these FINALLY come out. It totally brought back the child in me. I remembered being a Stormtrooper for Halloween when I was a kid 20 + years ago. All they had back then were those cheesy plastic molds with the eye holes.
Anyhoo, I don't care if they don't work, or if they aren't "501st" standard. They are good enough for me. And, I have major plans to get as many as my wife will allow and customize them for my kids (and me). (Thinking of going with a Captain Rex style.)
Well, thanks for an awesome site and keep up the awesome mods on the buckets. (BTW stormtrooperguy, your Hasbro mods looks amazing!)

the RC helmet is a LOT different than the clone... i think you'd be better off starting from scratch than trying to convert one.
