Customized Hasbro Helmet Paint Schemes

The Duck

New Hunter
I've got two boys who love Star Wars. Well, ok, one who LOVES Star Wars and one who likes it a lot. When I saw the Hasbro Helmets, I thought it would be a lot of fun for the kids if I painted each with a custom scheme. When I found this sight, I thought I'd pitch a couple of my ideas and get some feed back.

Keep in mind, they are rough and done with Windows Paint Brush...

The colors are based on the colors each kid chose when they started collecting figures. (So they didn't fight over which one was theres.)

My daughter wants a pink one... but I think I'll wait on that. I'm working on one for myself, but I want to do some customizing more than just paint.

Thanks for the welcome! Ya'll seem like a great bunch of guys and gals, especially to a guy with a Boba Fettish like myself... (Collect figures... can't afford the life size stuff... ) But I got me a sweet collection.

Anyhoo, the symbols do have a slight meaning. The green one is a stylized "H". Look and you'll see it. Our last name starts with an "H". The red one is an upside down "A". My son's name is Alan. Wanted to personalize the helmets for them. Now they just have to earn the money to buy them. (Trying to teach them to save and set goals. You know, trying to be a wise parent.)

Welcome aboard TD...
I really like the Red one, will you be applying some weathering around the edges for that 'seen some action' look?

Not sure how much weathering I'll give the boys' helmets. I figure my boys will leave them lying around, throw them a lot and otherwise abuse them. So, they're "seen some action" look will be authentic. :D

The one I create for myself definately will. I have yet to come up with an idea I am happy with. I don't plan on fixing the visor for the true "clone trooper" look, but do plan on giving it some personal attention and personality of its own.

For the kids... no.

For mine... still up in the air. I don't know if I've the patience/time/money to do it.

Paints cheap comparatively speaking.

Love the idea! Totally cool incorporating the kids' initials into logos. Very cool. I'm totally down with the simple paint mod, myself. Got a Rex & Tiger complete, w/ a Camo in the works. All for my son.

Painting these helmets is such a fun and quick mod. I love it.

Great work. Any pics of the completed project?
