Now that I'm near finished with my mando, I have been wanting to do an AotC clone trooper. I admit, I tend to multi-task waaaay too much, but what the heck, why not (so long as all the projects get done)? So, to be honest, I know little to nothing about the actual production of clone armor. I do know that if I want to buy a kit OSCS or Clonesix is the way to go, but that can cost me upwards of $1000 for a full suit. However, like my mando, I am sticking to an extreme low budget (hehe, bad hobby to get into if you don't have the creds, eh?). Right now, I am not into getting this 100% 501st acceptable, I'll worry about that when I have a job and can afford upgrading the kit. What I currently have to work with are Fierfek's pepakura templates (free-YES!!!), unfortunately, I don't know much about pepakura other than I will need fiberglass, resin and a good deal of bondo. I know SPC makes some solid pepakura templates, but alas, I cannot afford them (if I factor in the cost of all the other materials into my budget). So my current plan is to proceed with what I've got, although I lack shoulder, bicep, elbow, forearm and knee plate templates. For the helmet I have already started on a hasbro conversion.
So, any advice/help/constructive criticism is welcome. So far, I assembled a test breast plate out of light cardboard and was satisfied with the result. I plan to proceed with a cardstock and fiberglass one within the month.
If anyone has any better templates that they would be willing to give me, I would be very appreciative.
P.S. Has anyone ever successfully done a pepakura clone before? I would love some help. Also, will I need to modify the templates? I'm 6' and 140lbs if that helps at all.

Just to avoid creating new posts, I will simply update this one.
Awhile back, I had bought some 110lb cardstock and have been working on putting together pieces of CT armor using Fierfeks templates. Over Christmas vacation, I quickly built the chest, back, butt, cod, ab and a shin plate. I also did an Republic Commando chest and backplate but these parts were waaay undersized, which led me to check to see if my CT parts were undersized. Sure enough, they were, so I spent the past week building new parts. That why I have two cod plates lying around in one of the pictures, note the difference in sizes. So Christmas Eve, I picked up some resin and fiberglass. That brings us to Christmas day, where I took a chance and resined the resized cod, ab and backplates (I've never done pepakura before so this is all new territory for me) those parts then dried overnight, bringing us to today. About an hour ago, I fiberglassed the cod, ab and backplate and they should be ready sometime tomorrow. I think I may start bondoing them soon unless I add another layer of fiberglass... These three parts have been my test batch, I will finish up the others later.
On another note, I would like to thank lunarlord for some CT templates he sent me. These are very impressive and a few steps above what I've been working from so far. However, these are very detailed, almost too detailed (they are really well done, not to discredit anyone else's work, though). Because I am new to pepakura, I think I'm going to stick with what I've got, but i will use lunarlord's shoulder, bicep, forearm and maybe hand plates for my armor. I think I might be able to pull these off.
Here is where I need help. I do have the .pdo files for the knee and elbow, ab and hand plate, however, I think that I would be better able to execute these pieces in 1/8" PVC (I have some extra from my mando kit). In that case, I would require some type of flat pattern. Does anyone have one that I could use? I have been trying to convert the pep files into some form of flat template but I just can't seem to do it. Please, I really need help here. On top of that, I have no idea how to reverse the files for the shin and thigh plates. I only have one of each and need to duplicate a reverse set for my other leg. Any suggestions are welcome.
