Clone Wars Jedi General costume for my wife...

My wife and I are hoping to join our local 501st or Rebel Alliance group, and she decided upon a non-specific jedi general from the clone wars timeframe for her costume.

So besides scoring a graflex flashgun for $25 at the local camera shop, we're going to be outfitting her with both Jedi robes and partial clone trooper armor. We've been looking for sports equipment etc that might be useful for the armor portions, but defer to the forum's expertise on cost vs. accuracy. I'd of course prefer more accurate molds, but can't afford the full deluxe costume when she's really only going to be using the forearms, shins, ammo belt and possible shoulder pauldrons.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Aaron

most of the makers will let you purchase only the parts you need, and for just those parts I would imagine you could get the armor at a cost that would be less than the time and effort and materials to make them.

contact some of the guys who make animated armor and get a quote for just the parts you need.

Although the concept is from Clone Wars, I think we're going more for a live-action look, so perhaps decent Clone Armor would be acceptable. I have the skills for making it myself, but rarely the time. I'd prefer to buy parts and then finish the whole.

Since I'm a new member I cannot publicly post in the Cargo Hold. Are makers comfortable with new members sending private messages? Do most use paypal for payment? That would help ensure buyer and seller would both feel more comfortable with the transaction.

Thanks again.

Yes to all of your questions. Most selllers do not mind a PM. Just be patient when waiting on a response.

I would hop over to clonetroopers.net and look at some of the sellers. Most of them are on both forums but it would be easier to search them out on CTN. You can find both animated or realistic armor for your kit.
