    Chewbacca

Well whilst i wait for the funds to become available for my Fett upgrades, i thought i'd make a start on a costume that has been on the back burner for a couple of years. I have made the under suit from a mesh fabric and the hair is synth kanekalon. The plasters stilts give me a height of 7'5", so hopefully i won't look like Lumpy

still a long way to go though

You might want to consider boiling that hair to get the kinks out before lacing it in or you might look like Chewbacca is a member of "Destiny's Child".

Made the female mould of the mask. I need to get the dragonskin outer mask done first before the fibreglass under skull (more waiting).

Nice work! It'll be nice to see how this comes together.

Are you as tall as Mayhew with or without stilts, Bountyone? Great pic either way!

well I hope no one on here is 7'2".... i believe that is mayhew's height.

    I feel bad for him.

I hit my head everywhere just at 6'5"!

stilts are a great idea though

    what is your natural height?

No, I'm only 6'4. I recently sold that Chewie costume, I have a guy making me a new one with Kenetic jaw and underskull. Should look 10 times better than my old suit.

Kenekalon hair is dirt cheap. You can make the whole suit for under $100.

    Crush Vader? Ha, no way.

Because if Vader saw him coming he'd be running away too fast

That chewie is great. Do you have a contact addy for him? I'd love to bonce some ideas off him

The hair is Kanekalon and sells for approx Ģ4 a bag. The trousers took about 15 bags of brown #27 and about 3 bags of both dark brown #4 and grey #44.

I love the work on your Chewie, here's a shot of me and Chewie ( a long time ago in a galaxy far far away... ) at Disney Land...
A little blury since it's a pic of a pic (scanner died)
He's a little for Chewie, probable his little brother since I'm only 5'11".

Great job. I to am in the process of making a Chewbacca. I have been buying the supplies that I need and then I will get started. I will post pics also. I got a big box of Kanekalon hair in the mail the other day. My stilts should be here anyday and I just found a supplier for the mesh. I will order that on Friday. I can post the places that I am getting my supplies from if that's ok. I don't know if that's aloud, so I figuared I would ask first.

Good to know, thanks. Using them around house would be a good way to get used to the stilts. Looking forward to seeing more progress with your suit!

    Anything new Ronin?
Looks like you'll spend about $500+ on hair alone (300+ Pounds UK)?

I've seen the painters stilts for like $80.

I really like how the hair falls perfectly in place unlike the 'Supreme Collectable' Chewbacca costumes which go for like $350.

Anyway, nice work, keep us updated cause I gotta make one too (see my above post of pic with me and 'wookie' it was a special moment )
