    Cad Bane Mask WIP

    Just thought I'd post up a few progress pics of my Cad Bane mask. It is a 'real-world' imagining rather than the animated version.
    I was asked to make it as a commission for a chap in the GK who is doing a full costume. It is sculpted in wet clay over a lifecast.
    The chap wants to use Oakley type iridium lenses for the eyes which I have cast and replaced with dummies for the sculpt.
    Hence the eyes look a little flat imo but it should work nicely.



    This is going to be cast in Latex and foam. I'm also making the hoses for him.
    I've still got a long way to go on detailing a finish but he's nearly there.
    Question: What do you Bounty Hunter experts think Cad Bane's balaclava (thing that covers his neck and back of head) is made of?
    Leather or some sort of rubber?? Any ideas???

    NICE!! Looks great, I like how people are starting on making Cad Bane stuff now.
    One thing, I think the teeth are a little off they need to be pointed a bit.
    OH, the Oakley glasses lense I had an idea of making somthing that looks like that.

    Foam rubber for better flex then plain latex, same thing with the tubes because they would be to heavy & not as flexible if they were plain latex, I was going to do this costume but $ is holding Me back so Good luck and great job so far! Amazing!

    Just a quick update.
    I've added the skin texture, and scars and now he is ready to mould.
    The silver coating is just to stop him trying out and protect it from the casting resin.


    Yes there will be a very limited short run of these.
    I have many other commissions to finish first but I will probably be making them to order as from the end of March.(hopefully!)

    Pulled a rough one out to clean the mould today.
    This is just coloured latex laminated with a soft polyurethane foam. Tried it on and popped in the teeth and tubes(no lenses yet!) to see what he'll look like. I'll pull a good one with a slightly firmer foam in the next few days and start painting it.
    This is made for a medium/large sized head, so my huge melon has stretched it out of shape a bit.



    The price will be around €300+shipping. Sorry forgot to add the price in my last post!

    Lol, Hi all, just joined, thought i'd let you all know i will be the wearer of this costume.

    Thanks Jules for showing this off to TDH. Once i start to get othe parts made there will be more updated pics, As there are quite a few members involved in the creating of this costume, with a quote of £1700 just for the soft parts that's without including cost to the real leather hat, the ammo belts, the holsters and ammo pouch, the rocket jets boots, gauntlets and LL-30 blaster pistols , i am affraid this costume will be long in the making. here's a link to see how the mask has evolved from it's rawest form to what Jules has created now.

    Absolutely AMAZING!!
    Great job with the polarized eye lenses! They look better than the actual clone wars character. The tubes are realy acurate too.

    In time i will have the complete costume my friend, although won't be for a while, atm i have many friends making all the parts, next to be shown should be the LL-30 Blaster pistols then i should be getting the Hat the Ammobelts/Pouches and the Holsters.
