ANH & ESB DARTH VADER - finally complete!!

I can finally say that my quest to create the most accurate Darth Vader displays has come to an end.

I hope you like him. I had a very difficult time deciding on the poses as well as how to light him.

I'm interested in hearing which pics you like the best.

Gino, what can be said except you have completely nailed the look and feel of both the ANH and ESB Vaders, the finishes on the parts, the mannequins and the shots themselves really bring the whole thing to life, very very well done indeed

Edit - Oh I love the 'I find your lack of faith disturbing' pose for the ANH and the 'Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son' for the ESB

Excellent job Gino. I'm not a Vader detail expert, but looking at those, I can clearly get the ANH and ESB "feel" (for lack of a better word) for each costume.

Nice!! I like the "hands on the hips"-pose on the ANH Vader. Reminds me of a shot from the movies, just can´t remember which. Backround is a bit dark though, at least for photography, but probably awesome as a display.

And the "I am your father"-pose on the ESB is outstanding!

I am not much of a Vader fan, but that is unbelievably awesome! Absolutely gorgeous!

How tall is that Vader/ mannequin?

Did you do any work to the mannequin to get it that tall? or does the dome add all those extra inches?

It had to be made taller by cutting up the fiberglass parts and re-proportioning everything.

ANH Vader is incredible Gino... I think that the look of ANH Vader is THE Iconic Darth Vader. (Although ESB was a b@d@$$ in the movie) I think it was the ANH Vader that scared me as a kid when I first saw Star Wars. Anyway... Great Job!

I did a poll on the RPF to see which version of Vader they preferred, ANH or ESB, and the results were almost dead even.

I love your ESB Vader! I want to start working on a vader costume and I did some research. I think I will go with an SPFX helmet. I noticed a seller on ebay selling the belt and chest box and claims to be movie accurate. If you don't mind, I would like to use the vendors which you purchased from. If you don't mind sharing that info, you can send me a pm. I welcome any guidance you can provide for my vader project.

The "hands on the hips" ANH shot reminds me of some of the early promo pics from the early days. It PERFECTLY captures the specifically cruel feel that I think Vader only had in the first film.

Those are both fantastic suits.

Gino, the photoshop backdrops look very good indeed... how did you manage to drop you Vader in so seamlessly?

Think the ESB Vader "father/luke" pose is simply awesome.... way too realistic... , saying the obvious... impressive... most... impressive..

I think I would love to see a behind the scenes walkthrough of how you set up your posable armatures/mannequins if you ever have the time to share such a thing. Besides the outstanding detail and accuracy in these costumes, the posing of the figures is what makes these truly come to life as replicas par excellence.

I never get tired of seeing these pics. So many times mannequin "statues" just look off somehow, but I would've bet these were pics of someone in costume (maybe Dave Prowse from 30 years ago? ). These Vaders all look spot on. Personally TESB Vader was always my favorite though the ANH Vader's scowl does have a certain charm. As a side note, I will admit I never could tell much of a difference between TESB and ROTJ Vader though.
