*Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread

Hey all, im Patrick, im 17 years old i live in Ventura, California. I came into this because i love filming and my friend was working on a Star Wars Fan Film and had purchased a Vader suit, when i came across the armor for sale on ebay. and i came across this site while looking for paint schemes, blasters, etc.
I am a World War Two reenactor(that is where my profile pic comes from) with the 9th Infantry Divison 39th Regiment Easy Company and i am part of the Californian Historical Group.
Still in high school and unemployed.

My name is Mike and I'm 27 years old residing in Philadelphia,PA...I'm a machinist....My full time hobby is art (drawing/painting)....

I decided to begin making a Boba Fett costume (ROTJ) and after looking around, I found myself coming back to these boards. There are way too many posts to comment on these boards about the amazing paint jobs you guys have done to your Fetts. :cheers

This morning I ordered a Fett helmet from e-Bay, it looks like this:
af42_1.jpg

I know, beware of e-Bay but...I'm using this as my starter bucket to practice weathering and stuff. I know I can paint it but, the weathering looks severely difficult if done the way it looks in the movie. So, I'm gonna take my time and slowly do my best. I'll periodically post up some progress pics and get some input from you guys as well as check out others' pics. Thanks, and see ya' arond!

Hey everyone. My name is Roger.
New to the site and saying hello. "Hello!"
Just got started on my first Fett costume and I think things are going along very well. I wish I had found this site years ago!

...And here's what I look like for real.

Hello my name is Christian Knerr, you can call me Chris. I come from Germany (Saarland) and I am Star Wars Fan since I first saw the film when I was a 6 year old child and in "A new Hope" I started to like the Stormtroopers... and since "Empire Strikes Back" I was also a huge fan of Boba Fett. Especially the character itself and the armor really fascinated me. Now years later (I'm 21 now) the dream to have a Stormie (Feb 2006) and Boba Armor (Aug 2007) came true. I got the Costume from Bobamaker (myself is really too untalentated for costume building starting by zero ;) ) but I really enjoy to join a forum like this where I can find many kindred spirit persons and nice tipps and tricks to improve the costume. Maybe things like "How to built a Servo Controlled Visor" or "How to prevent the flightsuit throuser slipping out of the ankle spats when bending down." (See Picture *g*)  - And things like that. And naturally speaking with other persons who like Bounty Hunters. ;)

So hello everybody. :)

Hello, ner Mando'ad burc'ye.
My name is Andrea, Sareth Dorn is my Mandalorian character. I first saw Star Wars when I was 4 at the 20th Anniversary re-release and have been a fan(nerd) ever since. I feel in love with the Mandalorian way after playing the Knights of the Old Republic games. I'm hoping I can start making my own beskar'gam in at least year.

Hey there!!!

My name is Branden, I'm 20 years old and am from Pittsburgh Pa. I've love Star Wars ever since I was a little one. I've collected Star Wars stuff my whole life and I think I may step it up a notch and get a Fett suit of my own :)

Some of my hobbies/interests are paintball, drums, cars, 3D modeling (Autodesk Maya/Photoshop), cosplaying, martial arts, anime, music and much more heh...

I go to many conventions such as Otakon or Ohyaocon but Id like to get out there and see some real Star Wars events!

All in all I hope I can contribute to TDH in one way or another, you guys rock!

My friend (Sub-Zero) and I (Scorpion) with a Sandtrooper! haha

Well I never saw this thread when I joined back in November so here it goes. I'm 32 and born and raised in the Vancouver, BC area. I work as an operations manager for a Japanese electronics company and am currently taking additional management courses part time in the evenings. I was just recently married this past October to my fiance of 5 years. No kids for us, but we have two Shih Zhus.

I've always been a huge Star Wars fan and decided to finally get a suit of Stormy gear several years back. It's only FX, but besides the bobble-head bucket, I really like the suit. After taking a bit of a break from costuming, I decided to get back into it and start working on a Boba Fett (ESB) costume. By FAR one of the most challenging projects I've worked on, but it's been fun nonetheless. So far I've been collecting all the parts I need and will start work on the assembly once everything arrives. This site has been a terrific source of inspiration and knowledge and I'm thankful for that! :D

And now a few pics. The first one is me in Barbados this past November (on my honeymoon) and a full sized shot of my avatar...me drinking while on duty! The last one is my new MR bucket. And yes, I DO have pictures of me without a beer in my hand, but they are few and far between!

Hi. I've been lurking around the site for some time now; I decided to join a few hours after my birthday. My real name is Angeleene, and I'm only 14. So, apparently, I never watched the 1977 version of Star Wars, even if I wanted to. (I know about the DVD release of it, but I can't exactly buy it here. I can't even find a DVD version of AotC! *wants to watch the blooper reel*) I'm from the Philippines... *hides in a corner*

I've been a fan of Star Wars since that little incident last December, when my brother was supposed to buy me a PSP, but the only one left was the Vader PSP. So he sent that one to me... And I got obsessed with the game that came with it: SW: Battlefront Renegade Squadron. I bought everything I can find later on, which totally destroyed all my savings for a NDS. But it was worth it.

The reason I've lurked in here... It was listed in the "See Also" part of Wookiepedia at Zam's page. I was kinda curious, so I cheked it out. And for some reason, I just wanted to drop my old project (it was a scythe, from Kingdom Hearts), and move on to a new one: Jango Fett!

Other than being a total Star Wars geek, and being a student, obviously, I play video games. Kinda explains why I was saving for a DS, and why I wanted a PSP. I also own a PS2 unit, the fat one. (In gaming, I'm obsessed with that Square Enix RPG, Final Fantasy XII... The Japanese Star Wars. Hey, I can prove it, really!)

PS: Personally, I'd want to join 501st. That's why I'm making the costume. Then I'll just have to wait 'till I'm 18. I hope I'll be the 13th member of the Phil. Garrison, though, since, they have 12 members right now.

Hi Angeleene!

So glad that you found this little forum. You are going to love it here! There are great ideas, great resources and great people!

Hope to "see" you around a lot!

*hugs*

Hey guys,

I'm Kody Waldstein, and I was born and raised in D I K E, Iowa...I write it like that because the swearing filter tends to bleep it out. It is an interesting town name, but it is a nice quiet town of about 1000. I'm just about 19, in the Navy being transfered to NROTC, a student at Iowa State University, and a propbuilder! I absolutely love this site, and it has enriched my life. I'm in that stage of my life where...I don't know what I want to be/do with the rest of it soooo...this place is a nice stress suppressor! I have the greatest girlfriend on the planet whom I love dearly. I'm an aspiring comic writer and actor. I am also a musician and guitar player of 7 years. As you can tell...I do just about everything, and it has made my life very well rounded. It is a small world to see that an admin, Mirax H, is also from Iowa and attended the same college that I am currently at. Pretty awesome thread because the faces I imagined for some of the members are WAY off!! Hahaha! Thanks for an awesome place!

I know I forgot to post an introduction here and I am sorry for that. Been a little busy with getting things together for my mandalorian costume. A lot of planing if I do say so myself. Getting weapons and all that other good stuff that you all see with mandalorian armor.

Besides the costuming stuff my real name is Jamie. I am a person that lives in Arizona. Yeap the DSG....and all those other mandalorians that you all know and love LOL! Not much to talk about except for the fact that I go camping, ATV'ing, boating, and jetsking. I am a huge fan of all that stuff. A lot of fun also. Besides that I play a lot of star wars related games that will help me out with my costume and give me an edge to it.

For the most part I have a myspace account which I am a star wars RP as a force user and a mandalorian warrior which is sweet. If you seen some of my posts of my mandalorian progress then you will know what I mean.

Other then that that is mostly all I have to say to you guys. I look forward to meeting you all and hope to show more pictures of my armor that is sson to come. Thanks for accepting me as a member.
