    new to tdh

    Hello all
I'm from Grand Rapids Michigan, looking to put together a Boba Fett/mandalorian set of armor. I'm not really sure where to start and how to do it. I use a wheelchair so must be stream lined so can wheel with ease. Any suggestions or help would be nice.
    Thanks
    Kelly

    welcome to boards

does it have to be boba fett in particular or would u fancy a custom mando?
being a custom, you could just include bits to suit urself, in fact, can imagine adding custom rig to ur wheelchair bits too!

if u go boba, I guess the armour could be prety streamlined - esp.ly compared to sotrmtroopers and the like. below the waist is the cod piece and the knee pads only, I would however be worried abt the field of view out the t-visor ;D

as for how to go abt it - you can do everything from scratch building out of cardboard (check out WOF templets in both armour and armour sections) to tricking out completely with the best fan made stuff availale (all available on here of course!)

my only advice would be - do ur research 1st! these boards and the TDH wiki are amazin sources of info.

happy reading! and good luck in ur search

mmmm yeah - an no extreme movie accuracy to go for as well

if u go custom mando - have a think abt checking out the Mando Mercs Costuming Club as well, we share lots of members across both sites. Theres also a section on building ur armour up from card or sintra, as well as some recommended vendors for the mando on a budget.

gypsyboy is also planning on a custom mando lid run soon (?already started) and also read a while ago abt a modular custom mando lid, mix and match goodness.

cant wait to see ur ideas for including the chair into the cossie! should be very cool.

good luck in ur hunt mate

Welcome! I, too, am interested in seeing how you can incorporate your chair into your costume. That would rock!

    Welcome to TDH.

I have seen where people make AT-ST walker costumes or ships or whatever, maybe you could build a slave1 style ship around the chair and do the custom mando from waiste up. like you are in the cockpit. Maybe put a fog machine under the "skirt" part of the ship for a floating effect. Of course the ship would need to be made of something really light weight and possibly made in sections for easy assembly and not too wide for access through doors...I think it could be done though. Maybe mostly cardboard with a few fiberglass supports.

Thanks for all the cool ideas and the wishes for luck. The idea about doing Slave1 was good. I'm thinking more of a man-machine mix, on the lines of Vader or Grievous. I will keep you all up to date on what I am doing.

I can't wait to see pics. If I can help with anything soft part related, just let me know. I can offer pattern info, and such.

Thanks Debbi, I will keep you in mind, I need to start with the jump suit and work up from there. Any thing you can suggest would be helpful.
    Thanks, shameless
