Hello everyone,
Been a big fan of Boba Fett :fettesb for my entire life but only recently decided to go ahead and start building my own suit. This site is the best and has loads of great info and interesting people active on it.
Currently buidling a from scratch bucket from mounting board - pics will be posted soon.
I also hope to be getting a mystery helmet for Xmas too - unpainted! I'm a graphic designer and digital retoucher so I want to test my rusty paint skills! :D
Thanks
BoB

Hey there NorthStar, Welcome to TDH. Which boba style are you going for? SE, ESB, or my fav ROTJ?

Re: New Member
Thanks! Thats a good question! I'm not sure yet. I thought I'd focus on the physical part of the helmet and then move onto researching the paint jobs.
I'm using the WOF templates and have so far made the the basics: the mask, dome, ears, greebles and rangerfinder. Its taken 7 full time days to make and one trip to A n E after a scalpel accident - so my blood has gone into this! 4 stitches for my own stupidity! Battle scars!

Re: New Member
lol you cant add your self as a kill stripe on the helmet!
If you go ESB there is a great guide done by count dookie for adding the detail

Re: New Member
Thanks, they look very useful. I shall save these for the paint stage.
Any recomendations for paint brands and colours. I see alot of posts here are for US paints and maybe hard to source in the UK. I prefer to spray than brush but I guess it will be a bit of both. I'll probabley use salt masking to make the paint chips look more real - good flaking effect.
I'm due to start fibre glassing on monday. I may pop to a friends workshop for some advice as his company made the royal barge and other real props for the actual films.
Have you made a DIY bucket?

Re: New Member
I have never made a bucket no, it scares me to think of it :-) And the colours am still trying to find myself. As you said above there is loads in the US but not so in the uk. You could look on an ebay but thats not the best idea really. I'm trying to find a good colours for use in an Airbrush. I will let you know if I get a good hit. But am sure there are people here that can help more then me. Am a newbie here too and still dont know much.
