New Guy in Iraq

Fellow Mando'ade,
I just joined yesterday and I've got to say this board is awesome. I'm currently a Navy pilot in Iraq, and I'm looking to get my armor started when I get back to Hawaii. I do have a couple of questions for you, though. I want to start with an awesome helmet, and I've been reading about some you guys have mentioned. I'm looking to go metal as much as possible, but I can't figure out how to buy any of these helmets mentioned on the board. I've read about bobamakers, Terminal Fettler, SgtFangs, and masterlid I believe. Do you know if any of these are metal, and which is the best? I don't have too much internet time over here, so I can't search the forums very well. Any help would be apprciated.

Thanks,
Dice

Welcome aboard Dice...

Well the lids you have mentioned but I think you meant the 'Mystery' lid not the 'Master' lid ;) do not make metal lids as far as I know of, and as for the best?
Be prepared for an onslaught of peoples opinions.. to each their own and they are all great makers. I myself have most of them and like each one for different reasons. (sorry to vague)

There is a guy 'handshaub' or something like that, that cast Aluminium helmets? you could try him?

Good luck with your project, stay safe out there and take loads of pics when you have some progress.. we like pics here!

95% of us don't have a metal helmet and for the most part you won't need one. A really good fiberglass and resin lid be it cold cast or not will serve you well. I second that Bobamaker produces one very fine helmet. Screen accurate and solid. I love mine! Send him a private message and he'll hook you up with his website info. You can see how dedicated he is to producing a great lid.

:cheers

welcome to TDH! Thank you for your service, you've got my support!

Wickedbeard is who you will want to contact for all things metal. I am not sure if he does helmets or not, but I know he does pretty much everything else.

THANK YOU FOR SERVING, and fighting for our freedom!!!

I'm not sure if WICKEDBEARD does helmets either, but the rest of his metalwork is TOP NOTCH. Shoot him a PM.

hey mate - and welcome
bobamaker is great stuff. I am also grateful that we have at least one good armoruer on this side of the Atlantic!

wasnt asok sellin 1 or 2 cold casted specials? they may be Jango though.

Aloha dice welcome to the board.. If you should need some help when you get back feel free to ask . There is at least one tdh vode here in Hawaii that would be willing to help.

Hey ive been to the sand box.

WELCOME!!!!!

Id say save your money, but your an officer. You have the money.lol

I have a BM helmet, Love it. Can paint it right out of the box

Also have a Sgt. Fang, best bang for your buck if you like to do a little extra prep work. I think this one is good for a starter because you can learn from it. It dose take around 4-6 hours of prep to get it perfect (well took me) , sand paper, and some TLC. I think this would be best starter for you. Just my 2 cents.

If your ever at NAS Corpus Christi shoot me a PM. I work at the FD.

I think that you should research more about these helmets, or make one yourself. I am not trying to take any enthusiasm away from you, but make sure a BM will fit your head, or HS, FP, TF, MH, etc, as they all have slightly different sizes. Jango helmets can always be made from any of the Boba Fett helmets.

Here is a list, I have of Father and Son.

Boba Fett

Master Replicas (Discontinued, but if you can buy one on eBay, you will not be disapointed. The pinched visor needs to be fixed if you want it to be accurate.)

Mystery Helmet (Made by Sgt. Fang)

Bobamaker (Made by...bobamaker... lol. One of the best Fan Made helmets around)

Fettpride Helmet (Used to be made by Fettpride, before his wife's diagnosis of cancer, I believe Chris, is slowly, and I mean slowly getting back into his hobby we all share the love for, but for now look out for FPH's in the Cargo hold)

Terminal Fettler (Made by...welll....Terminal Fettler, haha)

Hand Schaub (Can be used as a Jango or Boba)

Marrow Sun Helmets (Marrow Sun Used to make them, look for them in the Cargo Hold)

MSH2 (Used to be made by Fettpride, No longer produced, and very rare. Look for them in the Cargo Hold)

DP95 (The better of the other don post helmets. A bit on the small side, Look for them on eBay, and here in the Cargo Hold)

And Stay away from Star Fortress productions at all costs, as their Costumes and helmets are total ****!

Jango Fett

Any Boba Fett Helmet can really be made to look like a Jango, but it wont be screen accurate.

BiggerKidsBiggerToys (Or more commonly known as BKBT, used to make this and stopped producing them after a while, to take a break, The molds are currently being sold in the Cargo hold, so we'll have to wait and see if BKBT himself gives the new owner the "Ok" to start producing new helmets. The BKBT is one of the most accurate Jango helmets around)

Fettprides ILM Cold Cast (From what I believe this was cast from a real Jango Helmet. I dont believe it was screen used, but it is VERY accurate to the actual screen used helmet. I do not believe that FP makes these anymore unless he starts a new run.)

Bobamaker Jango (This is also a VERY accurate Jango Helmet. I do not have anymore info on this helmet, since it is so new. )

This list does not show the sizes as they all vary and I have only seen a few of them in real life, however, it shows the amount of choices you have, depending on if you see them in the cargo hold or someone is currently making them.

And if anybody sees any mistake in this list, please feel free to fix it! :)
