Just wanted to say "hello" and introduce myself. I'm just getting started, though I've wanted to build a Fett costume for years. The very first movie I ever saw in a theatre was ROTJ, when I was six, and as soon as I saw Fett on the screen, I knew who my favorite was (was a bit upset when he ended up in the Sarlacc pit, though lol). The pinnacle [of me deciding to build an outfit] was when my fiance' and I ended up watching a St. Jude's donation infomercial one night. It popped into my head that it would be really cool to go visit the kids as Boba Fett. So, talked about it with her, sold my HK USP 9mm, and ordered the MR helmet. Now, I'm trying to stumble my way through finding out who to get quality movie accurate pieces from on a limited budget. So any input would be greatly appreciated on who to buy from, why, and where. Thank you also for the bit of knowledge I've already gotten just from the few things I've gotten to read so far.

Thanks, guys. I think my next duty pistol will be either an HK XC45 or a CZ45 w/ Trijicon tubular night sights. What I really want next is an L-96A modded to fire 300 shorts. Spec Ops spoiled the hell outta me. lol

Welcome aboard! "Quality, movie accurate" and "budget" rarely go hand in hand. That's true of just about anything in life. I currently don't own any guns and don't know too much about them, but it's definately something I would like to look into in the future, but I'm sure the ones you are talking about are high quality, and thus not cheap. Are there less expensive guns? I'm sure there are. Do plenty of reading and research here. If you are on a budget you can go a couple of routes; make it yourself, buy less expensive pieces, or save up for 1 or 2 quality pieces, buy them and work on them and waite and save up again. Know too that if you go one of the first 2 routes you may eventually upgrade pieces over time and end up spending more in the long run; it's all a matter of juggling your priorities; time, quality, and budget. You can usually only have 2 of the 3.

You have a great reason to start this project btw (or at least a great way to justify it to the fiance' lol)

I've been found out! lol I'm essentially building this piece by piece in order to have quality be paramount. Besides, like you essentially said, it's always easier and cheaper to do it right the first time, than it is to go back and fix it. :)

Piece by piece is a good way to go. I've been working on my fett for about 10 years, still not finished. Partly do to interest coming and going but also just the budget portion of things. I'll buy a piece when I can afford it, and when it lines up with my interest being there at the time.
