knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
hello all, after much research online for the perfect website to learn from other fett fanatics, etc, on how to create, construct and perfect awesome armor and costume pieces i have made my way here, to TDH.
from everything i have read, this is such a great site to be a part of, everyone seems to be extremely helpful and very friendly, with AWESOME ideas! :)
i'd love to create my own fett costume, but of a female version, somthing that looks feminine, but fett-esque...i'm just wondering where a girl would start with such a project...i am on a somewhat limited budget (yes i have checked out the trash can armor thread, which is genius! :))...i have no experience working with sintra or wonderflex, so i am a little hesitant to try using them.
i'm 26 and have been a huge star wars fan since i first saw it when i was 6...and have alway been a fan of fett (lol, i even have a fett decal on the back of my truck).
enough of my rambling though, its a pleasure to meet you all, and i look forward to learning from/about everyone! :fettesb

I have the mando decals on everything, I even used it as the basis of my last paint job on my motorcycle.

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
Welcome! There have been a number of great female Fett costume projects here. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. Building a Mandolorian costume can be as complicated as you want to make it. Definitely you'll be either buying a lot of pieces or making them yourself. Check out these threads for some great projects:

thank you so much count dookie!!!! i'll be checking those pages out right now, and trust me, the last thing i am afraid of is getting my hands dirty (i am a far cry for the average girl, and used to work on diesel trucks :P)!

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
Welcome to the TDH! :cheers Good luck in your future endeavors! Count Dookie took the words right out of my mouth. Hydra's build up has got to be my favorite female mando so far! :drool

Welcome aboard! You will find this site a treasure trove of all things Fett.

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
Firespray-- yes!!! hydra's femm mando is AWESOME to say the least...i LOVE the concept she used of straying away from something streamlined to a typical boba/jango mando (not that there is anything wrong with that :) )....
more than likely i will lean more towards something like hydra came up with, or something like the pink mando...they're concepts are freakin amazing and stray from the ordinary (which i like)!!!

thank you for the warm welcome, it is very much appreciated!!!
right now i'm working on a color scheme and things of that nature for my femme mando...im on the works of pamela mazurkevich webiste, which is rather helpful when trying to pull together color schemes...because as we all know, what may look awesome in your mind, may not always look that good on paper :b

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
I'm not sure how this was meant to be taken, so i am a little unsure as to how i should respond. :doh

As far as knoxville being lame, i have live in numerous major cities in the U.S. they all have thier good and bad points, ALL of them...I dont consider knoxville to be lame, life in any city is what YOU make of it...any city that i can live in and be happy, and the Wailers come play for free is good in my book :D....sorry your experience with knoxville has left a nasty taste in your mouth.
i talked to the 501st a bit at ad*con and plan to talk to them a bit more :)
have a great weekend :D

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
once i get movedinto my new place, its on with the construction of my mando!!! i've printed out a few different ideas for props/etc and a couple blank armor pics from a website so i can work on a color scheme while i am at work later on. toda, but yes i am VERY ambitious and growing impatient lol.....
thank you all for the warm welcome(s).
=)

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
nah'ima tifett,
I enjoy the women's conceptual design work here on TDH..
On your design I'd keep it simple...keep the cup size to a minimum!
That is if you can :D
-
Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
i do plan on keeping the cup size to a minimum (fortunately for me, i dont have a large cup size, well, i guess that's fortunate depending on how you look at it :lol)...i am lucky enough to be the same measurements as a good 95% of the half mannequins i have found on ebay, which will make constructing my own armor from them pretty easy as far as i am concerned...
i have a couple of different ideas for the routes i would like to go with my mando...
thank you for the welcome :cheers

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
are the knees the same color as the rest? Dunno if it's my screen but they look a little greener to me, if they are the same color I kinda like it. Staying away from the commonly used colors and a cool pattern to it. Weathered up I think it might look really good.
-
Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
the shoulder bells match the knees...but above the yellow on all the armor and bucket is the same greenish blue that is on the knees and bells...the other parts are like a dark cobalt blue...the pic is uploaded from my phone, i'll be uploading a better one when i get home...yeah, the more i look at it the more it makes me think of moto cross, why i havent a clue (lol)...thanks for the compliment =)

Re: knoxville femme "fettale" new to TDH
No up-dates in a long time. Did you stop working on it all together?
