Hi everybody, I joined a couple of days ago and I'm spending some time reading up and getting as much information before starting to build my first suit. Theres plenty of stuff on here and I've found it really useful so far so thanks!
Its cool that theres a general Star Wars costumes section too- I'm getting married in July and the reception is Star Wars themed fancy dress. I'm going whole-hog with a biker scout outfit but I wondered if anybody had any quick (and cheap if possible) tips or ideas for general Star Wars costumes for my guests as I dont expect everybody to shell out hundreds or spend 5 months sculpting their own fibreglass creations from scratch lol. I've already spotted a few of the ideas for cardboard helmets and armour but if anybody has any ideas i'd really appreciate them :)

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon, Jedi is probably the easiest, and I think least expensive. And the simple princess Leia dress would be pretty straight forward and inexpensive.

But most costumes are expensive. For the people that just want to have something akin to a Halloween costume, they can look for inexpensive costumes online.

There should be some ad/links around this board for inexpensive but fun costumes that will not cost a huge amount.

Try putting "star wars costumes" in a google search and you will see some links for cheap, $50 and under, simple Halloween type costumes.

Congratulations!

Hi debbi, thanks for the reply :)

I've seen a few of the halloween costumes before when i used to work for a fancy dress shop (i dealt with rubies quite a bit) and i reckon most people will go down that route. my fiancee and I are going the full shebang with custome made stuff but being the craft-geek I am i wanted to find as many outside-of-the-box ideas for costumes for my guests as possible (i've already started on a Tusken Raider and cardboard fett bucket that i found on instructables.com).

I've bookmarked a few of the pages on that link you gave me so thanks for that, i'll be passing those on to people. If you think of any easy(ish) ideas for obscure characters let me know-i'm thinking a hoarde of jawas would be brilliant :).just aslong as my and the mrs' costumes look the best i'm happy haha
