Aug 27, 2009, 5:11 PM - Hello from Tasmania and my sincere apologies #1

The first of my post were not directed in the most appropriate ways as i was fishing for the sale of some items a member had made. I know that in most cases this is not looked upon to favourably in most forum communities and i apologise for my error

Please allow me to take the time to introduce myself.

My name is Robert and i am 26 years of age with two beautiful children with my partner Megan of 10 years. I work as a response officer at a chocolate factory here in my home state of Tasmania Australia.
My brother and i along with a friend run a non for profit group called Heroes4Kids (H4K) with the primary focus being on children and giving them the opportunity to meet there hero up close and in person. To date we have done a lot of work with the local make a wish foundation branch in assisting as a hero escort from the air port to the child’s home after they have had their wish granted. We have also helped raise a small sum of money as well.

My part in H4K is costume research and development. It is up to me to gain contact with fellow costumers such as your selves and learn from the methods you adopt in your costume fabrication and to gain insights into other methods of costume production.

On the flip side should we not be in the position to make a particular part of a costume we like to support other artists in their work by purchasing components from them and in turn giving them public credit and referrals

Here are some pictures of the costumes have and have had in the past.

My costuming skills are more based in weapons and leather fabrication. I also dabble in a bit of the armour fabrication as well but only on the leather side.
I myself am not in the need for a jango or Boba fett armour but i am on the hunt for resources as i know one or two of our members have expressed interest in it.

Again i apologise for my lack of respect for the community in my actions. I hope we can start again and that you would all be willing to assist me in my hunt for all things costumeif you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask

I never knew Tasmania was in Australia? don't beat yourself up over your "infractions" we just like to slap around the newbies since there is no goalpost to tie you up to. Anyways I'm sure you'll fit in here just fine. Awesome costumes! Oh, and get some bounty hunters in there for petes' sake!

    thanks for the welcome guys.

Fractal-Fett unfortunetly no i was not a comic con. though the artist who sculpted the component has sold a few. plus there are also several versions out there much like clone and fett armour. i hope to get there one day.

vadr_h8r i do hope to get some fetts or mandalorians in the group. hence the reason i joined the forum. the thing with our costumeing group much like any other is that we need to have people who are wanting to get the suit them selves, if in the end we don't i will more than likely get one myself.
