Like most, I've been perusing these boards for a while and decided its time to introduce myself..

my name is Aaron, I live in Orlando, FL where I work at Disney in the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. I'm a semi-active 501st member with a sandtrooper costume (family and work come first).

When I made the decision to make a costume I was gonna initially go with a Fett until I realized the amount of time and money involved which is what lead to to go with a TD instead. Since that time I've been blessed with an amazing daughter (who's almost two). Not suprisingly enough, because of that daughter I have less time and less money so what better time than to start down that long expensive road of putting together a ROTJ Fett?!

I have a pretty good idea where I'm getting 90% of the build, but that could easily change as time passes. I'm definitely not in any rush.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.
 
Hey man,
I love orlando n the stunt show is wicked.
I've seen it a few times and never get bored of it.
If I could live n work in the U.S it'd be a dream come true.
I lived in south carolina for 2years, I miss it terribly.
Happy buildin.
 
So are you Indy or what in the show? Thats pretty cool....Seen it MANY times...also got the see the Jedi Temple of Doom and that was even cooler as who is the first guy you see but FETT....do your research and take your time and you'll love the outcome. Well worth the wait to have a quality Fett.

Yeah, I'm an Indy. I also was one of the tumblers in the Jedi Temple of Doom show. I BEGGED to be Fett for that show but at the time I hadn't trained as Indy and Fett did a number of Indy stunts. I've got dibs on Fett if they ever do it again.

They do it for star wars weekends right? That would be pretty awesome...the fett suit is pretty shoddy but it gets the job done for the stunt show Id say. Are you doing a full ROTJ or SE?

We were hoping they would do the show again for SWW but for whatever reason they decided against it. Yeah, Disney's Fett is pretty bad, but you hit the nail on the head that it worked for their needs and for that show. They don't have the luxury of being able to custom fit things, being meticulous about details. All their costumes have to pretty general and be able to stand up to everything they use them for.

My plan is a ROTJ. There's things about each version that I like, but overall I'm partial to the original Jedi setup.
 
Very cool job man, the Indy show was one of the coolest memories I have of my one visit. I live in FL too, but farther north. The Fett costume seems daunting, but before you know it you will be well on your way. Welcome and if you need anything, just ask... the guys here are amazing and will do anything they can to help.

It's always nice to hear that people have fond memories of the show, and I'm proud to be a part of that. Rumors are flying of the show closing to make room for Star Wars land, which would put a major halt to my Fett build (not to mention my ability to pay my mortgage). It would be sad especially because a lot of people have the same type of memories you're talking about and it's crossed generations now. People are bringing their kids to see the show that they saw when they were kids. Although you can't stop the hand of progress, I hope they are just rumors.

Oh yeh??!?!?!?! Oh no....I mean they need to keep indie but SW LAND!?!?!?! Now that would be awesome. Lots of FL garrison guys we have ALOT of members. Check out the FL501st site....

I know, I'm in the FL garrison (Makaze). The first troop I ever did one of the first members I met was Esh who had his Fett and I was so jealous!

I want to see the park extended as much as every other Star Wars fan. Maybe just in a different direction. There's been talk of extending out into the parking lot, losing American Idol, and a couple other areas. Indy is a HUGE space and there is a lot they could do with it. Time will tell. I have no doubt that the SW area will be expanded though.
 
Hey Zon, welcome to the board and congratulations on the birth of your new daughter. I think it's good that you are choosing to take the long road. Slow and steady wins the race.

I wish that I had seen this thread before hand. I was just at Hollywood Studios today and was selected as one of the extras during the first show of the day. I loved the show the last time I was there a few years ago and the show was one of the required things my whole family unanimously agreed on. It's always awesome!

Thanks! Would have been nice to meet you. Being an extra provides a whole new view of the show huh?
I lived in San Antonio for about 8 years and some of the places I miss are places like Boerne and New Braunfels Texas. I know it might be a while but when and if you ever make it back to the show, shoot me a PM beforehand.

That would be AWESOME! I have a list of everything I need, and I was set on getting your belt when the time comes anyway.
