Hello to the Dented Helmet!

Splat762

Active Hunter
Hi all, name is Brian and I'm a Boba Fett-aholic...:lol:

<hello Brian>

Member of Garrison Titan up in beautiful Washington State and currently troop in my Scout as TB-7760. I'm active duty Navy and will be deploying in August for about seven months...during that time I plan on building funds for a Boba Fett (don't tell the wife...shhhh). I like my Scout but I've ALWAYS been a fan of the best BH in the galaxy. So I'll be lurking here trying to learn all I can before I go.

WELCOME to THD Brian !!! Great to have you aboard. I too am in the process of assembling a Fett. Been about a year in the making. Just need a pair of Wickedbeard Gauntlets :D and a Jetpack. I plan on scratch building a tube frame harness.

Good luck with you Fett and my sincerest gratitude for your service to our country. All the best to you and your shipmates and best wishes for a safe and successful deployment. :cheers

Thanks gents, I've come across lots of info so far....okay TONS. :)

Where to start? Is there a master list of part suppliers that someone can PM me or stear me in the right direction?

Dunno about 'master' list but I think I recall a thread of items you'd need for a Fett and what to expect to pay?

You possibly need to think about where to start? - some start with Lid... most focal part and will spur you on to the rest. (y)

The lid would be a great place to start, and I've even thought about the blaster for a starting point...PM'ed Sidewinder.

I've been looking into lids, Sgt Fang...Don Post...BobaMaker...ugh, suggestions? LOL

Sidewinder does some very good kits for both ESB and ROTJ... which version are you leaning towards?
I have his ESB myself.

Lids? wow.. mine field... :lol:
Only joking, you have the following and in no particular order.. (and maybe more that i havn't listed)

FettPride = FG
TerminalFettler = FG
SgtFang = Resin
BobaMaker = FG

Welcome!!
I'll pass along the same advice I was told when I started this last November...it all depends on the price you want to pay, the amount of work you want to / have time to do, and the quality you want, and for Boba Fett, you're looking at a pretty hefty project in work or price or both.

Like slave1pilot said in this thread :

There are 3 ways you can have your Boba Fett Costume
1. Good
2. Fast
3. Cheap
You can only have 2,
Good and Fast- won't be Cheap
Good and Cheap- won't be Fast
Fast and Cheap- won't be Good

I went with a full BobaMaker costume after alot of research on here, and 8 months later (I paid for his painting service as well, PLUS he severely hurt his wrist a few months in), I couldn't be more satisfied. His stuff is worth the wait, as anyone you ask will tell you. But man, there are ALOT of high quality vendors here and I don't want to slight anyone. Just posting my experience. :)
Good luck!!

I know what it means to throw money into a costume worth wearing, belive you me...I built a ESB Vader that cost a small fortune then sold because it was just to dang uncomfortable to wear. :) That's when I built my Scout, much cheaper and so much more comfortable...plus I can SIT DOWN....lmao.

I'm actuallyl leaning more towards a ROTJ Fett, I don't like the ESB blue jumpsuit as much? I don't care so much about parts being "ready to wear" because I like to build kits and do paint and weathering....my Scout is really "beat up" and dirty. :) But I don't want to have to make everything by hand either....looks like there are some good vendors out there with some good looking stuff.

I hear ya' about the Vader. That was my first, and the weight of the 2 part helmet and shoulders, plus the cape really was a bit much for long periods. By comparison, the Jetpack is NOTHING! lol
Also, the price differences between my Vader and Fett is pretty big. My Fett cost quite a bit more than my Vader, but man it's worth it. I look forward to being able to move better and sit too! lol
My Fett is ROTJ costume, ESB Helmet (I LOVE how the ESB helmet looks compared to ROTJ).
Daz also sells the basic kits primed and ready for paint as well. Obviously I'm a bit biased as he's the only vendor I worked with to get my stuff other than my cape which I just nabbed from TheGhraveArtist, but definately take the time to look around at the suggestions people made, and pick which vendor suits you for price and work involved.

I look forward to seeing how things work out for ya'!

Thanks again guys for the warm welcome...I'm stoked to get my Fett started, chomping at the bit actually. :)

And so it begins...lol

Oh and someone asked to see my Scout via PM....here's a shot. :)
