Hello everyone, joined a few weeks ago and have been looking through a lot of the build threads and now with the Holiday down time I have time to say a proper hello to you all.
I am a professional pilot and aircraft mechanic by trade, love to play and tinker with my fleet of 4x4 trucks, toys and motorcycles.
I got hooked on SW in college when I read the first my Timothy Zahn book. Well many years and I really don't want to know how many thousands of dollars later, I had colleced almost all of the 3 3/4 and 12" Hasbro line until I just sort-of just gave it up few years ago when I was traveling a lot for work. I still swing down the toy isle and buy some when I am shopping for other items at the big box retail stores, but I have many gaps in the check lists now.
Some time during college I was home on break and at a camera store with my dad, who was getting somthing for one of his Nikon's and I spotted my first 3 cell Graflex flash tube and knew on the spot that I was looking at Luke's lightsaber. Now I have a very nice Graflex, MPP and Heiland collection (some repro's) of Luke and Vader variants for ROTS/ANH/ESB and ROTJ. I also along the way slowly collected the 3 ICON's lightsabers that I could not afford in collage when I first spotted them in Toyfare or The Star Wars insider magazines. Along with a very healthy (or maybe un-healthy) MR collection that is missing a few expensive or hard to find items (Boba Fett and Storm Trooper rifles, Thermal dentonator, Emperors clasp & Cane, Mace Windu saber and a few minor variants and signature items). As for "wearables" I have a small collection of don post, MR, Efx and custom helmets. The MR Rocketeer helmet has a place of honor in my living room for retro cool factor alone (I also have the back of a Cessna hanging on my wall too).
I wound up here after a long SW hiatus thanks to my good friend and former roommate "Wasteland" putting together a epic ESB Fett. Soooo I can't in good conscience let him have the upper hand, so my quest is just beginning to somehow equal or better his (It might have to be a working jet pack and flame thrower).
I really like ESB better, but might go the way of ROTJ. It will be made wearable, but sized for authenticity since I plan on it being more of a display piece, since I am built more like Malakili the Rancor keeper than Boba.
