Greetings from Universal City, TX!

Ronin Fett

New Hunter
Hi there everyone,

I don't really have anything impressive to tell you all about, so I'm gonna start by listing some things I like. My main interests include: Transformers (G1), Star Wars, Marvel Legends, TMNT, comic books, and casually playing video games. Does anyone love to play fighting games? Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat (Sometimes) are my favorites. I'm not quite a beginner with fighters, but I would say I'm an intermediate at best. I've been pretty distracted lately with the latest Star Wars Battlefront game, so it's been a few weeks since I've played some fighters. My system of choice has been PS4 followed by PS3. Sorry, no PC yet :/

The only experience I have with costuming is making a cheapo short-man Darth Vader costume when I was 15. I had pretty much made the entire costume based from the website 'Vader Maker Australia'. Less than a decade ago, I started on that Vader suit around the beginning of one summer, and finished it right before Halloween of that same year. I used to think I did a very good job with the costume, but I now have no problem admitting it left much to be desired.

I'd say that The Force Awakens has reignited my desire for Star Wars costuming. My current goal is to eventually create a 501st-approved Boba Fett suit. I'm 5'11" without armor, so I like to think that I'm probably the right size to be portraying a perfect Fett. So far, the only progress I have made is cutting out the WOF templates (very neatly) for the helmet. I haven't given myself a strict deadline this time around, because I really don't want to skimp out on any details. I only have about $150 in the Boba Fett costume savings, and I know I have a long way to go. It will probably take me a few years to finish this project, but it doesn't bother me at all. I can't wait to start showing some real progress, and hopefully be provided with some good feedback.

TL;DR - Thank you for letting me join the forum. Feel free to ask me any questions.

I'd love to see a gathering of fellow Texans with the same interest. I'll have to keep searching around this place to figure out where I could attend an armor party in or near San Antonio.

You are in Star Garrison territory for the 501st. You might join the garrison forums to find some armor parties in your area.

I am north of Dallas so I am about 7 hours away from the San Antonio area (if they ever finish 35 it will be 5 hours again). The north Texas squad is fairly active and I believe the south Texas squad is also fairly active.
