Got ripped off by a TDH member. Need help!

New Hunter
I paid a member here (who as of right now shall remain nameless) for Jango helmet and armor back in July. I've been getting the run around for a while now and now he won't respond to any emails. Any suggestions? He's got a Facebook page showing his (good) so I figured he was legit.

Is this person a maker or just selling you some stuff he had? If its someone just selling you stuff they had laying around, id def file a PayPal claim.

If its a maker, lots of things factor into what may delay an order. Honestly in the realm of Fett, 3 months isnt really much waiting, alot goes into making helmets and armor, and your likely not the only customer this person has. Did the person give you a finish date? Folks have waited much longer for things here. Its pretty normal to wait 6 months for something. That said, i know that info doesnt make you feel any better. My normal suggestion would be to wait it out..but thats assuming i knew the maker/seller had a decent reputation. When makers are in demand they get very busy and sometimes cant get to their e-mails as much as they'd like. Again, it really depends who the person is and if they have any kind of reputation here. If its past the date you were supposed to receive the stuff, and is not a well known seller here, and they are not replying to e-mails......Id suggest a paypal claim if you can still do that. If not, well, there isnt too much you can do unfortunately except hope the stuff does get to you soon.

Lol I ordered my helmet last October and got it in May, same for my jet pack. Three months is childs play. If its a legit maker crap happens and quality takes time. You can have two of three things here...quality, speed, and accuracy. I chose quality and accuracy. Most people who buy from here ask for help as well and get pointed in legit directions...my suggestion is to do that next time since this is your first post ever.

Anyway, the guy is a member here. He's from Michigan. TK2280. His name is Rob.

Well over on the Mandalorian Merc boards it says he has been in really bad health and having trouble. Another person stepped in and is trying to fill orders out of the goodness of his heart. It would be a stretch to say that everything is ok with him. And you are in the same boat as a great many people..........not a lone problem.

Don't know if you ordered off of the Merc site but this thread I listed is the place to follow and get the best updates.

Not sure about your specific case but waiting is part of the process. I ordered a FPH2 last January. Still waiting.

So do you think I should give the guy a few more weeks before filing a PayPal claim?

You don't HAVE to post to get a feel for who is legit. You can simply read the threads already in existence. Which is precisely what I did, rather than try and reinvent the wheel and start the exact same conversation over again.

I disagree for many reasons. I read the forums for about two months before I ordered or bought my first piece here. I asked for build help on who to turn to for vendors and found many of my vedors this way...people I would never have thought of going to for items. This is by large a self policed group with vedors rising and falling based on current info. Not even asking people for their input and advice is setting yourself up for failure.
