Seriously I'm fed up of this junk.

It was funny at first now I'm just sick of it. Sorry Mods if you think I'm being out of line but it's getting to be joke now.

Lizard you are not taking anyone's advice about the ettiquette on this forum and you continue to post threads that are a waste of time.

Sort yourself out or get off these boards.

I did not expect to laugh this hard when I clicked on this thread.

Liz...do you mind if I call you Liz?

Liz, you really need to post a pic right away on a thread like this. Are you asking if it will be structurally sound or if it will look good?

I think he just saw the other mando helmet thread, made of foamy material.

And uhm he is just copying that person's.

Stop trying so hard n00b.

Being new here myself, I've only posted a few times, and I really haven't introduced myself properly, (I'll have to get to that soon) ...Anyway I felt like I had to post here. I've been lurking and reading old threads here for quite a while, and I'm only going to be doing a custom mando, all of you doing a Boba or Jango, more power to you, I am highly impressed with almost all the works I've seen here. But Lizard do you ever, ever, ever read the old posts? Seriously dude, you have to study all this stuff before you can try and build it. I've been in costuming for a couple of years now and I love it, that being said, it isn't easy, but that's one of the things that makes it great, when you finish something and look at it and say "wow" I did that. Look here is the deal, Lizard I posted about wanting to buy a good helmet for my Custom Mando, ok 1st you didn't know what a Mando was???? Second, you PM me and tell me you could build me a helmet? But you couldn't answer any questions I had about your build process or costs? Hmmm...Now I see that you haven't even made a helmet yet, and that you obviously don't know how to build a helmet (even though there is a ton of info in the old threads that will tell you the process) I'm really not trying to be a jerk, and I hate to make a bad impression, but I had to say something, you should never try and solicit business from someone, when you have no idea what you are doing, personally I think you were trying to rip me for some fast cash -- and that's just wrong. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Sorry, if I said something I shouldn't have.

Im sorry about things i posted before. I sincerly take your advise and I will start to check out some of the old posts, But Cylrul Pbz I dont know what your taking about, Im making mine out of cardboard and posterboard. It has nothing to do with "Foamy Material".
Thanks,
Lizard

To paraphrase Terry Pratchet, you seem to do to a thread what honey does to a precision watch. I'm in the same camp as Amaden7766 here, a newbie that spent a long time reading other threads before posting.

HOWEVER:
To answer your question, yes a paper mache helmet would work in theory. If done correctly and with patience it should be pretty darn sturdy too (I've seen someone build a chair out of the stuff). The harder part of paper mache is making it smooth and creating a good frame for it. Thin cardboard isn't too flash as it tends to sag under the glue and wet paper. Chicken wire is your friend when it comes to mache.

Good luck
