Variant Ear Pieces

In the process of creating my variant project, ive come up with some ear pieces that fit well into variants. I have recreated the left to fit both sides of the helmet, and a lower right that fits both sides.

I have created a few different greeble pieces, as well as some 'rounded' different looking ear pieces.

Let me knwo what you think. These arent finished versions, they are mockups, but youll get the point.

Thanks. Im still cutting, gluing and filling small gaps, so I can make a mold of finished pieces. They really make the helmets unique.

Im looking for some antenna options, and heat sink/dissipators.

Ive also started to scratch build a range finder that is in a drack on the eye ridge, instead of an arm. Its different.:)

The greeble kits should be pretty robust. we will see how it goes;)

They arent really for sale samlynn. Sorry. They started as a MR, and have been modded, cast, modded cast about 3 times. Im on my 3rd mold in now, still changing shapes etc to better 'idealize' it for me. My MR was terribly glassed. Almost goo in some spots.
Ive only found one other person that had one like mine.

Heres the mockup of my custom helm as I work on earpieces for it.

So, after a week of work, I have very little to show. 6 pieces actually. Mostly cut and remodded from my last pieces, but im really excited about the way a couple of them work. This picture is NOT great, they are in the silicon now and should have some poured tonight, not pictured is the hilarious com piece/antenna, that you will ALL get a kick out of.

I made it from a pez dispenser, thats all ill say till i get it out of the silicon.

Hope you like them, id love feedback. Im going to offer kits if any of you want them. They will be any full side set (left and right) and a nice greeble kit that allows you to make all of the things picutured in the above, and more.

Heres a quick snap test placing them in my mold box.

I agree GCN. I think that this will allow people to do some really cool things. I made them by cutting, piecing, and replacing about 20 sets of resin ears, in different configurations, so all the shapes will be 'familiar' but none 'standard'

Im making a custom rangefinder now.

My favorite is 3 piece side. It looks pretty impressive on heavy variants.

I think this will fill in that gap that I found, for people that arent 'master builders' to be able to 'create' a look thats 'polished' and different from others.

The idea came from my variant helm.

Heres the updated helmet with the new earpieces on, out of the molds, not cleaned up, and just tacked on. There are 5 more pieces to it.

I call this the empire rising heavy insurgent helmet. I hope you like it:)

WOAH! That 3-piece ear is sweet! The ears are the one thing I just can't get to look right on my Mando, so I'd be interested, but probably not for a few weeks.

you've got some great additions to your custom helmets there and it's really cool that you have a few helmets to fool around with and try out new ideas on. Great job with them

Very sweet! I liked them when I saw the pics you posted in my thread, but to see them placed on the helmets gives a much better idea of how they could look.

Good job Storm'! ;)

Thanks for the input guys. Im working on the comm antenna the range finder and cleaning up one of the molds that didnt turn out quite right.

The lower snub piece for the 3 piece side, is pocked a bit which means they need to be sanded after coming out of the mold.

Im hoping to have a run list this week, once I get a couple pair fully connected tothe helmet and painted.

I need to get some water based non spray paints to weather them properly, then I think they will really look nice.

More pics tonight:)

ciao
