Umi - Snow Mando (Very picture intensive)

Basically "cross-posting" this from the mandalorian mercs, but figured I should probably place it here as well.

Having started this a while ago, (after going through "oh wow I'm bored with this" to "oh yay!"), I’ve finally put the finishing touches on her and went off hiking yesterday afternoon for some photo opportunities.

The snow and the background for those shots works out amazingly too, nicely done all around!

I'm a fan of snow myself. The snow trooper is my favorite stormtrooper, so I knew I was going to like this by default. However, i've got to say that my expectations were surpassed. This is one of, if not THE best custom i've seen. I tip my hat, er, helmet to you ma'am. :thumbup

The whole thing was primarily made from scratch (with the exception of the helmet and the base for the gun.. and the animal pelt. Haha.)

This is a very well executed Custom. I like the minimalist approach to the costume and armor, how clean everything is. You've left it free of clutter and it really works. I like that is white, but not really white. Subtle differences in hues of some of the fabrics and differences in material textures has lent itself to an extremely interesting and original design. And of course its extremely effective in its environment!

I'm also very appreciative of your design process.

Great work! I really like the costume and the overall design (especially the hooded cloak), but I think my favorite part is your rifle. I like that the design is very clean and streamlined, but that it still has a futuristic Star Wars type feel to it.

I saw this over on the mercs one day. Hydra, you have the best customs out there for sure! Love it!

like a bunch of people have said... i don't normally get into customs, but i really like this. it's got a consistent, practical design that makes sense to me. i can see why the various components would be present, why the colors (or lack thereof!) are the way they are, etc...

So these are pics from NDK 09 and i find it funny, that we ran into you guys, we were the Sith Lords and then my buddy and i, due in part to running into you guys start to think that Mandos would be cool... now i find out Hydra is one of the seemingly more well known mandos... freaking cool. I was the guy with the chain sash thing. Looking forward to finishing my Mandolorian stuff for NDK this year... should be fun!

Love this concept for a Snow Mando which inspired me to do a Snow version of K-Fett in Hoth Gear, already have the helmet I wanted for it which you can see in my thread "my custom in the works"
