When you say like it way more do you mean like the final product or just the process of putting it together?

The final product; you will be able to hold it and have the satisfaction of know that you made it. It is really worth all the effort and time in the end. So dont be discouraged; keep working at it!

Nice is a relative term... both of mine are no where near as nice as SAZ's bucket that i have, nor as nice as A'den's buckets, but that is the fact that EVERYONE is their own worst critic, and I hate critics so I guess I hate myself... That being said, from what I see of your work, it LOOKS 100% better than how mine looked at the same stage.

Get more bondo glass, and go with it, trust us, you will be more than happy with being able to look at it and hold it and put it on and say "I MADE THIS!!"

I dont think mine are perfect, but I MADE THEM!! and I really am happy to see people telling me that they like my work, I REALLY LIKE THE FACT THAT PEOPLE WANT TO DRAW ME, it's an awesome feeling.

DONT GIVE UP!! Or I'll have ta whip ya'

you can see that I cut my visor MUCH wider, even after I had the bondo layered, so you can finish layering then take a sharpie and sketch on the visor you want, then cut away vod.

I'd advise against cutting out the visor until you are complete. I know you want to try it out and all and it's a great feeling, BUT you lose stability and make the bucket prone to warping.

I'd concentrate more on getting the bucket shaped as nicely as possible, don't worry about the dinks so far, get the shape right first, then worry about nailing the detail and getting it smooth.

It takes a lot of patience, I know, going through what you went through with my cheek pieces, couldn't get them smooth for love nor money, but a systematic process is what you need.

I'll speak to Mr. Kyramud about posting his bondo lesson on the turtorial thread and see if he can expand it to sanding too.

DEFINITELY DO NOT CUT THE VISOR OUT UNTIL YOU ARE DONE, it WILL warp on you. I had to do a lot of repair work on my first bucket.

thanks vod ya sanding will be pretty soon

and as you can see from the pictures i did cut out the top part of the visor before bondoing and that did warp it a bit but im hoping after a bit of work i can fix it

Hmm, that visor warping thing needs to be in a tutorial, I'll speak to the Kyramud because I know he's working on one right now, so I'll see if I can get him to mention it.

Ta, hopefully it will get stickied once there is enough information for it to be useful.

Even a mando drawing tutorial would be cool.
