Starting my first Mando today

Well clean one up a bit! It's better than working in the snow or paying to build a shed!

Ah progress, good work vod, and I'll give you more time for tomorrow since I'm taking the younglings to Disneyland for the 4th time in as many weeks , man they never get tired of it... I thought I would never get tired, but man this is killing me.

haha well have fun! today i actually have to go to an anniversary meal so ill only be home for a few hours, but i will be getting my flak vest and neck seal so ill post pics of those

That is pretty sweet looking. Keep with the black side of the neck seal. Looks a little better LOL!

they're actually two different ones, we made two just to see what looks better

yeah I'd go with the black neck seal. And I like the vest, the heavy weave is a good idea, I approve!

Yeah, they're right. once you get the shoulder bells on them, they'll flop over a bit and make it kinda boba style.

Looks really good! I like the weave look...

And I agree with everybody else, go with the black neckseal.

ok sweet and is the neckseal supposed to be twice the size of your neck? might trim that later

I like the vest, but it's only supposed to go to the navel then the girth belt and ammo belts cover the rest. But I dont like the navel length I LOVE your's it goes all the way down, I need to make myself longer ones than what I already have...

Oh, can you jump over to my thread and look at my concept for my next bucket, can you redraw it for me, my drawing skills leave a LOT to be desired

I am not going to say bet but just by looking at the work you have put into the helmet it is pretty sweet looking. The work will pay off when you get a visor installed into that thing and get it all painted up colors you want it to be. Do you know what your colors will be?

I did the right cheek and got it lookin all snazzy and then ran out of spot filler! I should have been smarter when i bought it.. It seems i always go through more than just one of something

Yeah, someone made a jedi mando drawing somewhere and I think making a dark jedi mando would be a cool idea, i already want to make an ultraviolet bladed saber.

sweet! i was thinking maybe adding a bit of Darth Nihilus style in... but thats your choice A hood would definatly look sweet

but with the under cloak.. and then of course your helmet design

The chest armor is gonna be there, and maybe shin armor, I was also thinking of finger armor like short claws, but not long enough to get in the way of holding the saber.
I was thinking of just a narrow cape with a hood that will fall over the shoulders not connected at the neck but attached to the collar near the collar bones.

Ok.. Btw i love the gaunt/gloveish idea. Kinda like the ring wraiths and sauron off of lord of the wrings

Was gonna just do the fingers and hands, but for the gaunts, I wanted to just run smooth like Obi Wan in the Clone cartoon, but incorporate a dual saber in both, kind of like a tonfa to extend by the elbows when needed, and to extend at the wrists when needed.

Ok ya i can do that and that is a good movie (watched the second one last night and reading the hobbit for school)

thanks i also worked on the blaster today. Got the front handle cut off and just need to clean it up a bit. sanded off all the nerf emblems too

Krylon for the paint... Carhart tan coveralls for the flightsuit (not the winter kind)

The stuff i got was Krylon... pictures are somewhere up this thread C1RCA told me it wasnt good stuff and should get something else

krylon is perfect for the plastic trash can armor, you can rough it up and then use automotive paint if you want, but its gonna get damaged anyway, so why not use the krylon.

ok ill stick with my 5 dollar krylon paint saves me money!

Wish there was something to bring in some cash to busy to get a job right now

yeah the Krylon is great stuff. All of my armor paint is Krylon, I think it looks alright. I need to work on my battle damage but that's a different story.

Lucky you vod; you get the snow while I get the 125 degree weather here in Arizona. Really does suck. Well the 125 degree weather is in the summer time. Right now it is getting up there in the 80s but I am still telling you that it does get pretty warm with no clouds or anything to give us a light sprinkle or at least something that will help out in the long run. GRRRRR!!!!

FYI: I got some photos up of my bucket if you want to see. Almost done LOL! !

Well id switch you anyday!! Snow is really hard to work in and the dang cattle just give you more to do!! They could all die.. thats how much i care about them FEEL THE LOVE

Same here! If it did not snow as much I'd be perfectly fine. I have to have the perfect weather to go out ATVing with my family. Pretty much can't live without it. One of the many perks of living in Arizona. Long travels down to the Sand Dunes in California to ride in the Imperial Sand Dunes and hopefully to meet some Sandtroopers LOL!



Oh and thanks a bunch. All I am needing is to get the visor into place which I am hopping to find the stuff at Home Depot, get the ears placed on, and get my glowing rod on the helmet. All this stuff is on my to-do list up until Halloween. LOL!

Im thinking you should definatly make a sandtrooper for your next project! You get the perfect setting!!! Make a small fan film.. I CALL DOING THE EDITING haha

Well my standard armor pieces may not be done for halloween. They are on standby until I can get some more paint to get them painted up. So the only thing I maybe wearing is my mando helmet and some of the soft stuff and weapons for halloween. Basically it until the armor gets to its competed state. Then I will be focusing on updates LOL!

Get me a stormtrooper bucket, some armor, and send me down to Glamis and I will have the armor dirty by the weekened. It will take me four days to get it the way it needs LOL! I had the idea of making a sandtrooper for my next project. I only decided to do mando as I am a huge mando fan and it seems simple enough to get supplies to make mando armor.

so true... to make a sandtrooper youd pretty much need to buy your parts. And mandos just kick serious shebbs!

sandies are expensive... Or else I'd have one.

I want one too, maybe one day... I plan on getting manequin's for my kits to put into a theater (ok maybe on day in a very distant future )

I want an astromech, a Chewy, Sandtrooper, RC, Vader, HIC and of course my custom Mando's.

Im planning to make a Rotj boba and a HIC next.. along with an R2

plan on makin a ewok to

Ok problem... Theres supposed to be a line around the helmet that sticks out a little (only way i know how to explain it) But as you can see in the picture i never sanded it to have it
