Well my sisters dont live with me thankfully. It is just me, my mom, my dad, my nephew, and two dogs. It is still crazy when we get ready to go to certain events and all of that really good stuff LOL!

lol yeah I'd say so, I know how those "certain events" can be... my family (extended) is pretty big... in the close group of relatives we have 1 surviving grandparent, 1 step-grandparent, 8 aunts and uncles plus my mom and dad, and close to 20 cousins (in my generation) plus about 10 spouses or so plus all of our children... and EVERYONE has a dog or cat or two so... lol, it gets to be a busy, BUSY affair for those certain events! lol Me personally, thank goodness I only had 1 sister, and we've always had a dog or two around the house... now tho I have to share a house with my cyar'ika, my ad'ika and my dog! lol

I picked up more spot puddy today, and resin (it said it was called resin goop) Ive already started on my right gauntlet, so thats what the resin is for
oh and could someone post a pic of masking fluid? and kinda describe what it would say on it? because i searched Micheals for it but i could only find permanent masking fluid
oh and one other thing.. do i need to use fiberglass cloth with using resin?
depends on what you're gonna do with the resin. For structural integrety, I'd use it on the inside of the bucket with fiberglass.
im actually gonna use it on my gaunlets... right now theyre just cardboard
A resin coat would probably be fine, then with a coat of bondo over it for general smoothness and such...should be fine.

Yeah for the gaunts thats fine, you could use bondoglass if you want the fiberglass in it, but like A'den said just resin and bondo is good enough... You aren't gonna be stepping on your gaunts for support are ya'?Quote:

That was me...if you use alan's WOF temps, you can cut a hole in the underside of the gaunt and slush some resin around in the inside...works well. :)

the chrysalids is my most favourite novel, I'd suggest no extra chapter, its all ready pure excellence and requires no extra chapter, but if you really want too do as such, do such starting from the flight out of Waknuk(labrador) too New zealand

I need suggestions!! Im trying to get the helmet finished for the 27th I kinda promised a few people that it would be :lol I also need to know an easy quick way to make the keyslot... i tried with a dremel and pvc pipe..... it failed!! anything i should fix before i start painting please tell me :D thanks

Lev'ika, your helmet is looking GREAT!!! As for the key slot-do something custom! Make a pattern you can do and think looks cool, then cut it out and go!
And as for paint, it's looking really good! I'd slap some primer on it and see how it looks, and if it's in a reasonable state, then paint it up and then (the best part...) DAMAGE!!! :D :D :D

Yup CUSTOM key slots are the answer, and remember ANY dents and misshapen areas are damage, remember Mando's go where others fear to tread, sometimes we get bounced off walls and our buckets get a little tweaked, it just tells everyone we gotz ballz and we know how to use 'em!
Because you know what will happen if you make the helmet "perfect", you'll have to ding it up again to add the damage! Save yourself the time. :lol

its been silverized :D just waiting to get more masking fluid, the stuff i bought hadnt been sealed properly... when i returned it, they put it right back on the shelves :/ probably why it was hard in the first place.
oh jeez...lol I've heard you can use toothpaste or mustard as a masking agent...let me see if I can find the thread...

Zuka, lay off mate. The kid's trying to do it well. These are props; we weather with masking fluid. If you build a lid that can take "real" punishment for damage, go for it and post pics!!! But let Levi do it the way he has found to work best for him (and in this case, for many other people ).
